What a terrific player. Don't begrudge him one bit -- especially if he earned his degree [or came close].

I think he's going to have a LONG NBA career.

huge mistake ? He has nothing left to accomplish. Have you seen his tape ? Execs were at almost every game the last 20 games. The combine isnt going to take him from a 35/30 pick to top 15. Execs are forced to use tape. this only helps him

I just think he should stay one more year with the Coronavirus going around. Yes scouts have his tape... but being able to put numbers on that tape would only behoove Elijah in a draft process. Before everything got cancelled i wouldbhave said go for it but this changes a lot and i think with uncertainty he should wait until next year to enter the draft were he can put his full talents on display. Both on tape, in a combine setting, and individual workouts. I dont think he will get that opportunity to move up draft boards this year.

They are but i think Elijah eould benefit more with predraft workouts and a combine more than other players. I think is vertical will wow scouts once they get a number on how high he can jump. I think to maximize his value he should wait to be able to display his full talents. I think this is the perfect opportunity for unathletic players who are productive to get in the draft. Without putting a number on athleticism makes it hard sometimes.

Just look at the Buffalo Bills and Tee Higgins for example. Reports were that Bills were in love with Tee. He on tape showed to be a jump ball specialist. Tee Higgins skipped the combine which confused people but I once they saw his performance teams saw why he decided to skip. His 10 yard split was horrendous. And someone who on tape is considered a jump ball guy had a terrible vertical. It scared the Bills off and they went and traded for Stefon Diggs.

Thats just one example of how a combine can change the way a scout looks at a player. Even though you have a tape doesnt necessarily mean they will measure out to what you see. And Elijah Hughes would benefit from being sneaky athletic while other player may not. And in order to maximize his draft stock i think he needs to wait to display his full talents. I think he is a type of prospect who would benefit more from having an entire pre draft process than others. Once they put numbers on his vert and his wing span. And they see his shooting range in person. I think scouts would be drooling to get him as a SG.

Think this is a huge mistake... with corona there will probably not be a combine. And i think Hughes to get the most money and be drafted higher needs to be able to show his athleticism in a combine setting

Second round is second round. It doesn't really matter where in the 2nd you are drafted. If you play well, you are better off than a late first round pick. Knicks have a 2nd first rounder at 26. You can believe he will be on their radar as they need shooters.

I think he’s going to be our best pro in a while.

One of my favorite players to wear the Orange regardless of how much time he spent here. Wish we had him for longer.

I posted this on nunesmagician also... my personal opinion is...
that Hughes was one of the best players we’ve had in years. While battle was good, Hughes is even better. Going to the NBA was the only rational decision. He was consistently scoring and he did it on a team with few other options, so defenses could key in on him. I just wish we could’ve seen hughes with more talent around him
