Realistically, how many wins do we think we'd actually need for Eric to stay in contention (provided his numbers fit the bill)?
8 wins pre bowl game should do the trick
McNabb didn't have the eye popping numbers Dungey could end up getting. I think 8 wins with ridiculous numbers could keep him in the conversation.U serious? Mcnabb never even sniffed heisman w teams competing for big east titles
Syracuse will hve to be in acc championship contention at a minimum to be considered. Heisman is the ultimate popularity contest

For what it's worth, McNabb was 5th in the Heisman voting in 1998, aka he missed being invited by one guy.
If it was Notre Dame, all you need is a 5-6 record. Ask Don McPherson.
Didn't ND go 8-4 in 1987?
he wasn't invited was my point. He was the most dynamic qb in college that year and still wasn't popular enough nationally and/or our team wasn't top 5 to even get the attention of voters.
Dungey will have to pull off a Flutie like season (top 10 ranking, big wins vs clemson/nd) for him to even be remotely considered and be invited. I hope it happens but a 8 win season won't even wake anyone up.
Eh...what's 31 years between friends (or at least internet associates).I stand corrected. After 55 years of attending these games my mind can get foggy.
He lost it on a Thursday night
