This is just the long, drawn-out winding down of the JB era. For reasons that are too stupid to mention, it had to be an internal hire. Even still, it's frustrating because there were obviously better internal hire options available. We decided to hire a guy because he coached here the longest (when we were terrible). This was the Creed Bratton coaching search.

I'm pretty aware of what happened with the JB transition. That's why I said I realized his hands were tied. If Fran has a good offseason, I'll feel much better about things.

I’ll be fine with the Fran hire no matter how it ends up in the end. That was a high risk, high reward hire - I’d rather we shoot for the moon instead of trying to get some established coach with a gimmicky approach that kept us at 6-8 wins every year with no hope of playoffs.

I’ll be very concerned if we don’t hire an established winner everyone nationally thinks would get us back into the championship hunt in basketball most years.

I’m holding off on anything totally crazy until I see Tennessee.

That’s where I was until this half. Tennessee actually had to play a gauntlet too. Then they go home quick and then have to fly up to Cuse. We should’ve had something to say we battled against the best and we can compete. That’s poof now.

I think it’s just a small minority of people. Everyone who has a clue wants Hodgson or a Langel type. Not saying I agree those guys should be the hire.

Need a proven program builder. Louisville hit a HR hire with Kelsey. He is a complete professional compared to Kenny Payne.

It’s time for him and the staff to go. Constantly has his team looking unprepared, can’t win Quad 1 games, etc. and has had 3 years to show something. He has failed MISERABLY, and it’s time for him to go. Adrian Autry = Kenny Payne, and it’s time for Syracuse to take the Louisville route and fire their HC and go OUTSIDE of their program for the next one.

I agree we need a new coach, but who are you gonna get right now, in-season? Someone who doesn’t have a job right now?

I'm sure the board of trustees doesn't understand - but Syracuse basketball has to be good for Syracuse University to be good. It's time to get serious on the hill and invest money and energy into our program.

Again if he doesn't reach the tourney he will be let go. Everyone knows the score including the people who matter up on the hill.

But what if he sneaks in as a bubble team? That’s my worry.

Will Wade
Sean Miller
Ryan Odom


All would have been perfect :-(

Tennessee is a top 10 team in my opinion and we do not match up well with them, especially with Donnie out. The only thing in our favor is the game is in the Dome.

You can post this all day everyday, but that’s the complaint. Other schools take their athletic programs seriously. SU doesn’t have a leader.

There is/was too many people close to the employees on the BOT. The entire operation is a family affair.

I imagine that would be Miller and Wade. The other three, especially McCollum, would have been perfect.
