My preference is to wait until later in the season to elect to go elsewhere. However, for those who want change now, begin by emailing our AD with copies going to members of the Board of Trustees who are involved with overseeing athletics as your strategy.

the greater context of the comment does.
You’re taking a weird line on this whole topic. Syracuse is at a disadvantage compared to the vast majority of D1 basketball and football schools. First, being a small private school. Second, being located in a relatively small, poor/economic depressed region. Three, approximately not generating an overly wealthy alumni network that desires to invest in the success of Syracuse athletics. Not sure what to tell you, but those are significant factors to overcome.

They could always drop football (they won’t) and focus on basketball only. If you have less resources you can concentrate those resources to achieve a better outcome. I don’t think that will happen because they want to be part of a P4 conference to collect football revenue.

Syracuse will always be a small cap team amongst large cap teams.

And I’m saying there are plenty of other schools with similar disadvantages who have done the bare minimum, not hiring unproven alumni, and they’ve been successful. Syracuse could’ve avoided all of this by just not hiring Red. The excuses are just that, excuses. The solutions are not that hard. Football has a far greater hill to climb than basketball so I will hear the excuses there. This team has more than enough talent and we had plenty of money to afford them yet we stuck with red who is limiting the talent massively because he isn’t A passable coach.

You’re co-mingling a lot of different issues.

I don’t buy that. The brand & the community support can bring a lot of what they need.

If they are a mid major masquerading in the big boy pool then they can’t afford to make mistakes in numerous areas. They need to win wherever they can. Out-compete, better strategies, S&C, bright young minds, scouting, etc.

Also they’ll need to get out of the dome because playing ~.500 ball in front of 5,000 people is going to look awful.

It wasn’t that long ago we were bragging about how big our *brand* was and our fanbase filled up opponent arenas and our massive on campus arena and now all of a sudden we’re the little sisters of the poor.

Agreed. Money wasn’t a problem in the offseason. Now that we have lost 3 games people revert to the same discussions as last year.

It should be of note that we passed on players that are performing elsewhere this season. I’m not saying they would have performed here, but we certainly are not getting close to the most we can out of the basketball program.

It's mind numbing really. We're not complaining about little things here. Maybe we can't be a top 15 team every year like we used to be because of money but we haven't even sniffed the tournament in years, let alone the top 25. And the sheer number of blowout losses is outrageous.

The really bad thing about this is JB didn't just get to drag the program down for his last 8 years, but he got an additional 3 years of dragging the program down with hiring Red.

He was a G league Head Coach of the best team in the league; plus he was a great recruiter for USC and now Kentucky

Jason Hart was 19-59 as a head coach in the G-League. I would take him as an assistant and nothing more.
