The biggest problem (aside from Mr. "ya know?" Red) is Naithan George. By the way, I play a drinking game with my gf and friends where we drink every time Red says "ya know?" in post game interviews. We're all trashed in minutes. Try it it's fun

! Anyway, in my opinion George is a monumental disappointment and hasn't provided the offense with any sort of boost we thought we'd be getting over Carlos. PG is arguably the most important position- sets up the offense and is supposed to make everybody better. He doesn't do that. When he failed to get up a game-winning shot against Houston I knew it was going to be another long year at that position. Last night he amazingly scores zero points against freaking Hofstra at home while shooting 0/4 (0/3). He did get 6 assists but sorry man we need 10 points from our PG on top of that. He is the reason we lost. No point guard, no good team. It simply boils down to that in my opinion.
In his last 5 games, aside from St Joe's where he shot 4/6, his shooting percentage has been nothing short of horrific. Hofstra 0/4 (0%), Tennessee 1/7 (14%), Iowa State 1/5 (20%), Kansas 1/4 (25%), Houston 4/13 (31%). That's 7/33 (21%) shooting from our point guard since the competition has ramped up. This is where the Autry abject stupidity comes into play. You're tied with Houston and you call this dude's number shooting 4/13, over JJ who was shooting 5/8 that night? I don't understand some of the decisions this dude makes. It's a shame because he really struck gold with Kyle. What a waste if the talent and athletic bunch on this roster don't get a crack at it in March.
Let's see what happens over these next few games though, and how the team responds. I know everyone is over Red, but we haven't hit ACC play yet, so the opportunity to turn it around is still there. With Donnie hopefully set to return by the Clemson game it can be turned around, but we will need George to average 10 and 6 assists for us to go 14-6 or better in conference play (with at least 2 more quad 1 wins), which is what I think we'll need to make the tourney. Keep the chins up and let's hope for the best. The talent is there.
