Gotcha. Don’t most players’ families sit in the bleachers opposite the bench?Media is located on both sidelines.
Please let Gerry McNamara try three years before hiring an outsider as our coach. But prepare for a replacement if the second year is subpar.
As I posted after the last game, I don't think firing him now helps SU at all. It just makes it uncomfortable for possible candidates being asked about the job from media etc., having to deny it, and possibly getting extensions at their current school. I'm sure Wildhack can contact agents and see what's out there. It’s not the school’s style to fire a coach mid season. Especially with Red being a former player. But I wouldn’t be sad to see if Englestad could try to salvage the season with many quad 1 opportunities left on the schedule.
Red is not going to pull that off. And you’d get a head start on a coaching search. It’s a new environment out there with the portal being a thing and players getting paid. I’m not sure principals like “we don’t fire coaches mid season” holds much water anymore.
Ours demand “loyalty”This was all made possible by the fans. Other programs are serious because their fans demand accountability.
