For those are already to move on from Red

It means we are preparing for the future where every player gets paid and money goes to the settlement.
Bus is not great but on those trips every kid has te equivalent of a first class seat and when you factor in getting to airport 2 hours early. Transportation to the airport. Luggage wait time. Transportation from the airport to the city.
NY, Boston, Pittsburgh probably a push or better.
This is so accurate but the optics are that it’s cheap.

?

They fly private bus to plane. Not in boarding zone 5

Probably not the best feeling being one of twelve basketball players in what used to be a very proud program and watching the entire football team boarding charter planes.

All jokes aside. Imagine young Melo chooses USC and their luxury lifestyle out West in the sun. They’d prob give Kaiyan his own plane. That could’ve set us back even further.

Old Man Carmelo and even more likely LaLa I expect will write blank checks next year to see Kaiyan have every opportunity to succeed on the Hill.

Other than riding the bus, what other things do you suggest the program do to help toughen 'em up?
• Provide steady leadership.
• Lead by example.
• Have reasonable expectations and make sure they are adhered to.
• Play the players who deserve to play, sit the players who aren't ready to contribute.
• Stop buying players fancy cars and teach them how to handle the money they are earning so that it provides for them and their families in the future.
• Court NIL donors, but ensure donors follow the rules and the values of the university.
• Treat players with respect but not adoration.
• Be honest with the players about what they need to do to become professional basketball players. Provide alternatives for players who won't become professional players.

This is a new era in college sports, but that doesn't mean we should abandon our values and expectations. A bus ride and reasonable accommodations won't hurt anyone.

I've traveled on to road trips on a college basketball team bus, and I've done so on a plane. Not even close to a push. Bus is awful.

That said, we're sacrificing comfortable and efficient travel so unremarkable 20-year-old basketball players can make solid salaries? What's the point, burn it down.

We use to fly to LGA and the team for years would stay at the LGA Marriott. The year of the huge blizzard (1994 or 5?) put an end to that, as the BE required that all teams had to stay in Manhattan. I miss the East Side Marriott and their lobby bar.
I was at The Times Sq Marriott for that tourney, surreal for sure. Wading through waist deep snow from the hotel to .SG and the MSG roof leaking. That was a crazy week

you think players never “flunk out” before ? judah mintz was barly eligible and only reason he was is bc of his position the team. quadir was kicked off by red, and a move that had a ripple affect on others (like maliq).
There's a big difference between barely eligible and failed out, similar to being pretty sick and being dead.

NIL has nothing to do with bus trips

If the school doesn't care about the program and take it seriously, why should I? Trudging up to the Dome all winter to watch us grind out wins against Colgate and Cornell and be .500 or worse in the ACC is getting old really fast.

But if all of this is true, and I have no reason to believe it isn't, it really just shows that some folks were bigger JB fans than fans of the program.

We won it, too. Even crazier!

Maliq leaving had zero to do with quadir if anything Taylor leaving would have had more effect. I’d say majority of athletes fall in the barely eligible.
