future grad transfers

I don't see anything in White or Gillon that makes me want to go this route again. Don't care how much he scored in the first half. These guys are basically seniors and seem to be on Team Gillon and Team White instead of Team Syracuse.

Add that to litany of other problems we have with personnel and coaching.

I'm actually glad we have White, but Gillon is a problem. He's simply too short to play big boy ball. And he's taking away development time for Frank and Battle for that matter. JB gave Gillon way too much run tonight.

It would take a special kind of graduate to come in and gel with new teammates in November. 99 times out of 100, any kid that special would be playing professionally already.

I'm skeptical about this experiment.

Andrew White was the only reason we didn't lose by 35
Andrew white is basically a bad version of trevor cooney. he literally does nothing except make stand still threes. he is a defensive disaster, has no handle, is loose with the ball, and can't pass or rebound.

the problem with these grad transfers is you have to take too long to train all the losing out of them. these dudes know how to beat bad teams but they suck against teams that are actually good. hence why they are grad transfers.

I should clarify. White is ok (as a bench shooter) given the fact our recruiting is garbage lately. If we could recruit halfway decent for a program of our stature, id rather bring in a freshman for that role.

Without Gillon we'd be stuck with Frank for 40 minutes.

Haven't seen anything good from Frank for 2 games or any game in his career against a good team.

Ok. So there are people here who think we'd be better off with our only players being Howard, Battle, Lydon, Roberson, Coleman, Chukwu and Thompson? That's how you think we'd be a better team?
I'd say it's more of an indictment of the coaches and team building than what you outline. Nobody else of our stature seems to have the problems we have when people go pro because they actually are able to recruit at a high level. The fact we probably have to go this route again next year is not exactly confidence inspiring.

You have to admit that the NCAA sanctions had to play a big role in the recruits we got. Again, never self-report. It's stupid.

wait, you think Andrew white was on tonight? he had to have been -20 or something.
I don't want White to be the guy on our team. He is a terrific shooter, and if someone steps up like Lydon or Howard the opposition will focus on them and not White and I believe that will lead to him hitting some huge shots for us down the road. I don't think he was off tonight...my opinion though

We really need someone to convince JB and TL that TL should be the primary focus on offense.
