I assume we're the backup plan should ND find their way to warmer pastures?

I'm surprised they wouldn't take a chance on Pitt. I'm sure the Pinstripe loves us (we show up in the crowd and on the field) and wants to see us in the future when they go ACC, but too many times to the well and becoming the Syracuse Bowl? I'd think they want new blood every so often.

Que Rutgers

The Pinstripe makes so much sense. I would be fine with that if we don't get a warm weather destination.

SU vs RU perhaps (assuming they win on Sat)?

I heard the Pinstripe is our second choice after the Military, and we think Maryland is going there.

who would go to the pinstripe vs. a 'nova home game that has 30,000 plus tickets sold.

Experience the excitement of the college football bowl season at Yankee Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 28 at 12:15 p.m. Tickets for the 2013 New Era Pinstripe Bowl, featuring a team from the American Athletic Conference against an at-large institution, are on sale now at pinstripebowl.com and ticketmaster.com. doesn't seem logical for the bowl committee to make this decision.Unless the AAC is looking for an advantage somewhere

rutgirls will to USF by close to two touchdowns

Makes no sense when most of your CNY fans will be at a hoops game...send Pitt there.

This type of game with over 30,000 tickets sold for nova could hurt bowl opportunities in future years when fans don't show up to a bowl game that is the closet one to our campus. Sneaky little bastards the AAC is.

I would have no problem if the B-Ball game was in Philly.

Well, we do have a corner of our dome that commemorates our Pinstripe Bowl victories. With the amount of Bowls that struggle to fill seats, I think finding a team that's either a huge brand name or a local team is a top priority. And if I know Doctor Gross like I think I know Doctor Gross, New York's College Team wants to play in Yankee Stadium again.

Eh, I don't like it but we'd still draw more to pinstripe than Shreveport or maybe even Detroit...even though it'd be a bunch less than the last two times. I get the logic and an opponent like Rutgers would mitigate our small turnout a bit.

Ooh, the band implications would be sad. Hopefully they'd bring a high school group to the dome and let the whole marching band to to pinstripe...or just send one of the top high school bands to NYC which might actually be better. :)

the band goes to the bowl, high school band to the nova game, West Geensee in the mix

Im sorry but if fans are going to a regular season basketball game that no one outside of syracuse cares about than idk what to think anymore.

Maybe because many of the diehards have been to both Pinstripe Bowls.

I love the football team buy my a$$ will be in the dome watching two ranked and possibly undefeated teams. I guarantee that. 28,000+ people will feel the same way

We were headed to Dallas, but BC got involved. If it is not Pinstripe, it's Detroit
Interesting. Still looking for revenge for the non-Fiesta Bowl, I see. #DiamondFerri

You guys missed the point. No one out of syracuse will care..ive said it once and I will say it again the NCAA is football other than like 3 basketball teams. Let me know once march gets here and than i might care. I get it there both ranked teams but it is a bowl game guysss!!!!!

I'm a huge SU football fan, but how is a game pitting two top 25 basketball teams against one another worse than a meaningless bowl game featuring two 6-6 teams???
I'll take the bowl game. That memory will last forever. I've been to a lot of *big* bball games over the years at the Dome that I have forgotten about.

Not only that, but if Nova beats St. Joe's, LaSalle, and Rider, they will be 10-0 coming into the Dome against the 11-0 Orange, who would be ranked no worse than 3rd at that point; obviously a huge showdown between what should be two top-10 teams by then (Nova was 14th this week in the AP Poll).
