FWIW, strong possibility of PINSTRIPE Bowl

I have a solution! Lets hope they do not get the snow bowl again...

That would be wonderful. Best of both worlds

I'm very surprised so many here would choose the basketball game.

Over the last eight years alone we've seen two bowl games vs. 144 home basketball games.

Bowl games are way more memorable, I don't care how meaningless the game is from a national standpoint. I had a freakin' blast at the Pinstripe last year. Way more fun than one of countless basketball games at the Dome, as enjoyable as they can be.
But, if you find basketball to be an inherently better game, and good basketball to be far superior to mediocre football, its a no brainier.

It has nothing to do with choosing one or the other. You are assuming that everyone is going to travel to the bowl game. I am unable to travel to a bowl game given the time of year. Makes my decision very easy seeing i have 4 seasons hoops tickets

I took my brother to last years pinstripe bowl who basically is a typical canadian guy and only cares about a hockey puck ( Hockey is my fav sport ). he had no interest in SU football until i took him to nyc now we are arranging to go wherever the hell they end up this bowl season

Define everyone? Until college football figures out how to make it so more than the same 10 teams can compete for a national championship it will always play second fiddle. Not trying to give you a hard time. Just giving you a point of view that most who follow both programs feel.

I think you need to figure out a way, Marsh. How about limiting those 10 teams to 40 scholies???

I love both SU hoops and football as well, but for my money, nothing beats college football, and it's not even close.

I would be willing to watch a tiddlywink contest if you took me to NYC :)

This is a hilarious battle over someones own perspective. Im a bball first guy. i will watch and record the football game. When the 'Nova game comes on, I will switch to that. Once that has finished, I will go back to the football game. It will be a great 7 hours. 'MURICA.

I can respect that. The sport for me (syracuse aside) has soured for me the last 15 years. Growing up in the 80's and even the 90's it was so much fun to watch. Now its the sec and everyone else and the post season is terrible. More than half of the division one hoops teams have a legit shot of winning an ncaa game. You cant say that about college football. There isnt a wichita state or butler in the college football world

so there have been 3 pinstripes bowls and we have gone to 2 (ineligible #2).
and you expect us to be invited for #4? just smacks too much of favoritism.
if that's indeed the case just change the name to ORANGE BOWL NORTH.

the auburn alabama game...never seen a basketball game end like that

Pearl vs bc 1983
Duke vs kentucky 1991
Kentucky vs indiana 2012

There are 50 amazing endings in college hoops every season.

Did you go to the final four? Why not compare postseason to postseason instead of a "countless game at the Dome?"

Postseason gets a bit better next year with a 'playoff'. When it gets to 8, it will be great. Not NCAA tournament great, but better than the bowl mishmash we have now.

I agree. I would kill for it to go to 16. How incredible would that be?

Believe me i watched most of the bama auburn game and it was a classic. Not denying that. You can count on one hand how many of those games there are a year in college football.

Because I'm not debating college football vs. college basketball. I'll take college basketball all day. I'm simply comparing a Syracuse bowl game vs. a random home basketball game in December.

No that was not a sarcastic ok. I believe you

sorry i don't speak fluent canadien but it's like comparing curling to hockey.

If SU was still in the old Big East, and we were playing Duke in an out-of-conference game in the Dome that day ... what would be your priority then?

Summed it up perfectly. A December game against Nova over a bowl game? C'mon now.

But its not a random home december game. Its a game against an old rival where both teams will probably undefeated and may be ranked in the top 10. Hell we may be the #1 team in the country.

Like i said if it was albany or colgate there would be no decision.
