FWIW, strong possibility of PINSTRIPE Bowl

We were headed to Dallas, but BC got involved. If it is not Pinstripe, it's Detroit

If BC goes to Dallas, that opens up an ACC Bowl. Are you saying Pitt would get that ACC bowl over SU?

A bowl game 4-5 hours from my house which i am not attending. I can watch it on my phone whole we are kicking villanovas a$$
Ok thats nice dude but will villanovas 5,000 fans care when you kick there ass..

Who gives a crap what villanovas fans think? I care about our team. I will take syracuse/villanova over syracuse/rice anyday

BC has no alum down here! Gives us Dallas!!!

If we don't get Dallas I am going to kick the first Superfan I see in the nuts. That might be pretty hard as they are as rare as Moldavian Wedding Bands.

no i respect what your saying but would you seriously watch a basketball game over a football game cmonnn man, when I attended su you could not pay me to watch basketball, anyways im rambling on about myself, basically it is all dependant on what sport you prefer

You guys missed the point. No one out of syracuse will care..ive said it once and I will say it again the NCAA is football other than like 3 basketball teams. Let me know once march gets here and than i might care. I get it there both ranked teams but it is a bowl game guysss!!!!!

A meaningless bowl game. Check the ratings for that thing afterward. It probably won't be much more than the ratings for Cuse-Nova. And will probably have about the same attendance number.

Fair enough. I knows you are a college basketball connoisseur. :) All I will say is LGO! (for both!)

To each his own, my man. To each his own.

Ill take on that bet. Who other than duke unc cuse kentucky will be watching basketball during bowl season...every basketball game is meaningless untill march for su

So you went to su and never watched the hoops team play? I find that both odd and very disturbing. I watch 50 hours of college hoops a week. I watch 3 hours a week of college football. When syracuse plays. And i love football.

Noone watches bowl games outside of the fans of the teams playing.

Yes partially because I just do not like bball that much , it made me sick when the students came out in numbers for bball and not for football so I thought I would do vice versa and not show up for bball

Maybe, but more watch football than bball. Lets end this, you like bball I like football

Nothing wrong with that.

Well thats fine but the hoops team rules this town dude. Born and raised here and its been this way for a long time. Not showing up out of spite makes no sense.

I love su football like i love my mother but college football as a sport cant hold a candle to college basketball.

Than how come everyone prefers college football?

There is no right or wrong answer and everyone will have their preference, but the bowl game is an accomplishment but means very little. The basketball game could mean a lot in rankings and ultimately seedings.

Define everyone? Until college football figures out how to make it so more than the same 10 teams can compete for a national championship it will always play second fiddle.

Not trying to give you a hard time. Just giving you a point of view that most who follow both programs feel.

So once our team gets 6-6 we just abandon them. Thats not good and right, if they play western oklahoma southern in the cheescake cheese bowl you have to support them, basketball goes forever we do not get football until late auguts!

I agree about the ten team thing, but bcs schools care more about football

I can still support them by watching and cheering. If they play at the same time as the nova game however it will play second fiddle. Two possibly undefeated top 10 teams as opposed to two 6-6 teams? Pretty easy decision. Had it been reversed and we were playing albany and playing in a new years day bowl i would pay more attention to the bowl game

I'm very surprised so many here would choose the basketball game.

Over the last eight years alone we've seen two bowl games vs. approx 150 home basketball games.

Bowl games are way more memorable, I don't care how meaningless the game is from a national standpoint. I had a freakin' blast at the Pinstripe last year. Way more fun than one of countless basketball games at the Dome, as enjoyable as they can be.

I have a solution! Lets hope they do not get the snow bowl again...
