G-Town Mega fan stops by.

Lovely post! I applaud you. Something about the nature of message boards leads to a pack mentality. Free thought is almost absent on the interwebs. Same thing on the Gtown board. Disagree with an accepted norm and you become a pariah. Sad really.

It's not a pack mentality. We just all hate you.

Otto Porter couldn't hold a match to MCW. Otto played extensively because you needed him to. No question MCW will eat g'town's lunch next year.

The way you Syracuse Fans talk I think I am on the Carolina Board. Such arrogance. Lets see how long arrogance rules around here.

Just how many final four appearances do you guys have in the last 5 years?

We have a game on Thursday. Beat it, nerd.

How many National Championships do you guys have in the last 10 years?

Haven't read the whole thread so sorry if this was ready posted, but my answer to the original posters question would be:

He is NBA bound after a year so I imagine the choice of school isn't going to be based on developmental aspects. He will want to go somewhere he is comfortable (MCW here) and where he has a chance to win a National Title (not Georgetown).

And the final reason - it's 7:27... and Georgetown still sucks.

I have no clue where Noel is going. But let's not fool ourselves, if he is an Anthony Davis-type player he could make any number of teams a national title contender. I'd surmise about 50 teams would warp from pretender to contender overnight if he signed on and was 100% as advertised.

That's a big if. But it's the reality. If you stripped Davis off Kentucky, they wouldn't have been as dominant this year. If you took away Carmelo in '03, we were possibly back to the NIT. In college basketball, things can change in a flash.

A star who cant get time with the mighty Scoop and Trish in front of him? Let me guess those 2 are stars as well?
clearly better than Clark, Trawick, and starks. 33-2. somethings working. Kid will be a star.

Hello Orange people I am BronxHoya87 and I come in peace. This is odd for me to say since I have had such a volatile relationship with Syracuse over the last 25 years or so.

Fact is your program has been far superior to ours over the last 22 years. No way around it! In 2007 with a trip to the Final 4 in our back pocket and with zero senior starters I thought we would become the heavy of the conference again but that did not happen.

I want to address a variety of topics with you starting with the recruitment of one Mr. Noel. I am flabbergasted as to why you would be shocked that a kid who is 6'11 and is a shot blocker would possibly select Gtown?

Again currently you have the better program, better players and a much better coach but you will never have the big man legacy that we have. Take away the loathing in your heart and admit that Georgetown is probably the best place for this kid based on our his story.

Ewing, Alonzo, Dikembe now Hibbert and Monroe. Hibbert is now a NBA All-Star and Monroe in the eyes of NBA GM's is the best player in the NBA under 21. If he stays healthy he will be an All-Star for the next decade. He is doing all this without superb athleticism or height. He learned the game and improved dramatically under the tutledge of JT3 and staff.

I want to keep this missive semi brief because I have a lot more to say later about JT3 (very average coach and I am down on him) our fan base (sorry excuse for fans) and the Georgetown online community who have morphed into virtual hero worship regarding JT3. He can do no wrong despite flame out after flame out in the NCAA Tourney.

If you look at the resumes of the two programs since JTIII took over they are not that dissimilar.

Both teams have won two Big East regular season championships;

SU has won 2 Big East tourney championships to Georgetown's 1.

SU has 4 Sweet Sixteens to Georgetown's 2 but Georgetown has a final four and we do not.

Be careful what you wish for.

If JTIII goes walking out that door, there is no guarantee that the next guy won't be Esherick II. You get the wrong guy, your program may never recover.

You guys aren't exactly Kentucky, North Carolina or Kansas when it comes to places where coaches really want to go.

I have seen Otto Porter play and he is a very good player.. Don't think he has NBA in his future though. I have also seen MCW play and he will be in the NBA way before Porter. Circumstance has given Otto a head start.

Not advocating his ouster by any means (yet) but he needs to make a few cosmetic changes biggest being that slow offense that is not point guard friendly and playing more aggressive on defense. All the years I remember Syracuse has always had a great panic press when they are down in the 2nd half. JT3 has shown no ability to win games once down big outside of a few rare occasions.

In other words JT3 coaches very cowardly.

me obviously.
MCW is going to be a top 8 guard in the country next year and I wouldn't be surprised to see him as one of the top 3 one bit. And thats without Orange colored glasses. He is a STUD!

Otto vs. MCW is a good one. I love Porter's game, but man, I don't think I could pick him over MCW. Not even trying to slight Porter by saying that either.

I totally get why GU fans think it isn't close because Porter is a really good, refined player but at this time next year, I think it will all make sense. MCW is the total package. Will be one of the all time greats here in my opinion.

I think this time next year Porter will be a 14/7 guy as a sf. MCW will be 14/7 also, but the 7 will be assists not rebounds. Way, way more upside than Porter.

Monroe in the eyes of NBA GM's is the best player in the NBA under 21.

Sorry, but this drives me nuts. It is NBA GMs, not NBA GM's.

You are obviously a fan of the Georgetown Hoya's.

Triche isn't really in front of him . . . Triche and Waiters are a combo guards, but MCW is a pure point and is behind our other pure point, Jardine. Scoop is the heart and soul of this fine squad. Raw numbers be damned - many (maybe even most) long time Orange fans believe that he is having one of the very best seasons of any point guard in the Boeheim. Kinda hard to break into the rotation when you have to take minutes from a fifth year senior who is authoring the best record in school history.

but by all means ignore us and go to sleep on the kid. in fact, forget you read this. we are all just hopeless homers with permanently Orange tinted vision.

Why is this a conversation?

We have a Sweet 16 game in Boston in 2 days and we're bitching with a GTown fan about a kid who's in HS? I understand Georgetown fans are bored right now because their team is out, but why they can't stick to hoytalk?

Come see us in a month when we have Noel and another National Title.
