Game Day to UCF

I'm not sure why everyone cares so much about this. It's not on campus.

We're the biggest game this week and will get tons of talk and publicity regardless of where this show is held.

My hope is that it serves as extra motivation for the team, and I'm sure Dino will is it as such.

I'd like to also add that Syracuse is at the MSG on ESPN both Thursday and Friday. Gamed could of done something with that.

I think it comes down to the crowd at UCF would be a little crazier than in the Bronx.

The crowd will be alot more interested.

I Agree, but i doubt the team has been sitting around hoping for gameday. GD on campus next year would be 20x better.

Maybe but they went to Jacksonville for UGA-Florida and when TCU-Ohio State played at JerryWorld.
They go wherever they chose. Herbstreit not having to travel probably matters more than college campuses.

Can't compare it, warm weather in the south where CFB is relevant vs the show that is NYC where CFB is an afterthought.

It really seems to make no logical sense. How do you miss the opportunities that you outlined above. Even if you didn't have a couple of factors from above, the ones that were left would still be good enough to have a gameday. Just crazy and weird.

Makes all the sense in the world from a production standpoint. if the game was in south bend, its a no brainer.

I would bet you a billion dollars if the game were in South Bend, it would get zero consideration. It would be an NBC televised game. ESPN/Disney would not promote that.

The 1st Gameday this season was at South Bend for the ND/Michigan game ... on NBC.

Would have gotten tons more consideration than the cess pool urban, non CFB environment of NYC. if GD always stayed away from NBC, ND wouldn't ever get a GD.

ND gets on Gameday...when it is a visitor and the game is not televised on NBC. You might look that up.

As someone who works in and loves NYC, I wish you the very best in whatever amazing environment you call home.

Not to reiterate for the 1,000th time, but just this year alone:

Gameday Locations:
September 1st - Michigan @ Notre Dame - NBC
October 6th - Texas vs. Oklahoma - Fox
October 27th - Florida vs. Georgia - CBS
November 3rd - Alabama @ LSU - CBS
Future Date:
December 8th - Army vs. Navy - CBS

It doesn’t matter what channel the game is on.

I totally stand corrected.

Oh well. Honestly, I don't care if SU is the game on Gameday unless its actually being held in Syracuse, NY.
That will be next year when we host Clemson...and gameday.

Well this sucks a lot because Syracuse has a pretty good record on GD as the visiting team right?

Right?

If I worked gameday, I'd choose UCF too. Temps in the 60's during showtime versus temps in the 40's.

I'm not sure NYC being the media center of the world has any influence. Gameday is a big enough entity without it. If it was that important, they would've done it much sooner than they originally did.

Really doesn't matter that it wasn't on campus. For a program that still severely lacks any sort of positive national perception i think this game could have gone a long way in showing the country that the Orange are back, Being on Gameday gives you a sense of credibility. Being the featured game the show would have revolved around our game. Plus imagine if Corso got in the Orange mascot? That's mirages and pictures that you put in your athletic facility for recruits to see for years to come. imo it was a missed opportunity and I still can't figure out why it wasn't selected?

That is the tailgate of the year. This won't be. Really not that complicated on who will be at 161 and River at 9AM.

It is a joke. That game will have awful ratings. No one gives a flying . Taking off the orange colored glasses, GameDay should have been in Texas.
