Doty was going wherever Gmac was. If he stayed at Siena he probably would've stayed but definitely would've been hard considering the offers that would be coming his way. I know for a fact he loves Gmac and his dream scenario just happened. The family has to be pretty excited right now.

I dont doubt his love for Gerry and his desire to continue playing for him, but life altering money can change anyone's mind. Then throw in a chance to be on a possible title contender and not a mid major.

I agree, but I also think he believes in himself and that he could earn a starting role, along with not being the type that wants to just be handed one.

All fans respect Gerry and thinks he did good coaching so far they just wanted a more experienced coach at this critical time. Does not mean he won’t initially get support it is just a big risk at this time.
