I think our GM hit a home run with roster construction. Just hope Red and his crew are strong enough coaches to get the most out of these guys.

LGO!!!

It would be nice if that big African kid, Diawara (?) could see a few minutes a game.

The league does have a few guys that are either way taller or way heavier than Kyle. In some cases, both.

His ability to win those matchups is in doubt, as sometimes you can't just leap over somebody to make up for the disadvantage in height and weight. If he, Souare, White and Freeman can't at least break even in those matchups, we could have some very long games.

I am optimistic Kyle can handle the challenge.

Soare and White can both defend opposing bigs for 5-10 minutes a game. We're deeper in this respect than we have been in at least 5 years.

Their best player Lilley was out along with at least 3 others. Another guy looked like he dislocated his shoulder and ended up in a cast, came out of the game early.

Like you said, no way to know yet but Binghamton was the better team with about 7 or 8 guys and a bunch of injured players in street clothes.
Dayumm!! Are they beat up from our game?

Obviously it’s early days. They passed the first test. Now onto the next and the next and the next.

I’ll know we’re back when we’re rolling 8 guys deep with no weak links against real competition and other P5 teams actually have us circled on the calendar as a legit battle.

For the longest time opposing coaches didn’t even have to gameplan us, we were just an afterthought until the next game. Their staffs could just look at our roster and see the glaring weaknesses in Nov that would haunt us all year. Lemoyne or Colgate or Bryant long ago, the other teams coach just needed to watch the highlights to see how to shut us down on both ends. And That goes back well before Autry as HC.

My hope is that we show up to play Houston and Kansas and they can’t just easily gameplan us. I’m not going to act like they’ll be worried about us but they know it’ll be a real game. When they watch the tape will they have to think about George making shots or throwing oops to Kyle, is it Kiyan or JJ at the 2, is Freeman playing the 3 or 4 or 5 when is Sadiq going to get on the court and give them trouble.

Negative, Ghostrider - the pattern is full.

He’s gonna RS.
So is Womack.

Don’t hold your breath.

We’ve got Kyle and Souare,
plus Donnie can play minutes there situationally / opportunistically / “break glass in case of emergency”.

That's certainly good to hear. But we're talking a DIII team. That margin of victory is very slim. You are notoriously the mot positive person on this forum, so I'm going to try and be like you and look on the bright side right now. :)

They were missing 2 starters against us too...

Potential starters. Ashe and the transfer were not locked into anything. Lilley, Quigley and Peterson were expected to be the core and who they leaned on the most this year.

We missed a lot of open looks and would have rolled them 100-40 something had those gone down so the margin being only 40 and then 18 at half is deceiving. That doesn’t mean we are back yet of course but trying to sort out if Binghamton should have been a bigger win etc isn’t necessary.

I was just going off what they said at the beginning of the broadcast. I'm definitely not a Binghamton Bearcat expert, so I'll defer!

Totally get it- and most of the time the research on teams like Bingo is pretty minimal from those crews.

Who else here googled "mot" for a little bit?
(Aside from me)
As far as I know, I believe I am now the Minister of Transportation. And I will take that title with pride and try my best to live up to it.

The past five years early in the season we were always saying "why are we down against Colgate?" "we have to have better players than Bryant?" "maybe they just need time to gel." For the first time since then we beat a cupcake the way you're supposed to beat a cupcake and the way other teams beat cupcakes. I think we're back. Hopefully the ACC is still down and the close losses are now definitive wins.
