Good to see Dungey on the sidelines...

It very well could be either or both

I don't think they'd risk having him on the sideline if it were a concussion--wouldn't they keep him in the locker room?

Seems irresponsible to have an impaired kid roaming around, where he could get injured worse.

Yeah--would be good to have somebody like cuseregular weigh in.

...even if in street clothes.

I assume if it were a concussion, he wouldn't be on the sidelines, and would have remained in the locker room. Is that assumption correct?

I would assume he wouldn't be on the sideline if he had one.

To me it didn't look like the helmets actual touched dungey's more of a violent neck snapping motion

A violent neck snapping motion can cause a tbi. It results in your brain being shaken up in your skull

I also didn't see any helmet to helmet. That doesn't mean the guy didn't lead with his helmet.

Agreed, 99.9% sure if it was a concussion, he would NOT be on the sideline...especially standing up, 10 feet away from the field. IMO, this is great news. I dont care if we get beat by 80 today, as long as Dungey is not concussed, and can return next week...that is the best we could hope for in this game.

He mustn't have any symptoms for them to have him out there like that. Sound has got to be defining and it's pretty darn sunny.

Agreed...don't think it is a concussion any more. Most likely a stinger, and for those who know what I am talking about those are a bear...

Having had a couple pretty good ones in college I can vouch they suck. That's my guess as well. I know my worst one I couldn't move either arm till I got off the field. It looked like ED tried to get up but couldn't. I'm again guessing, but it could have been something similar and he couldn't use his arms to get up. I don't think they'd bring him right back out if it was a concussion with all the concussion related issues.

Noise and sunlight are bad for concussions.

If he's on the sidelines, it's a good thing.
I'm pretty sure ED was sent back to his dorm after being evaluated during the CMU game. Reason to be hopeful for next week

Even if it's not a concussion, it could be another injury-- stinger/ shoulder/ neck...anything. Hope he's okay but just because he's on the bench, doesn't necessarily bode well for next week. If he can't go, please let's use Mahoney.
