Here we go again

free market. works both ways. i sat amidst a sea of tennessee fans when they beat us on a pass interference...
oh please don't make me relive it again.

Can't believe the number of SU season ticket holders who chose to support Duke by selling their fans their tickets. You're not real SU fans so stop pretending to be one.

What if the only way you could afford seasons is to sell off a few games during the year to cover the cost? Some "fan" may now get to attend 15 games they ordinarily wouldnt because of the financial windfall from selling their Duke tickets.

I could care less what people do with their tickets. I think some of the concerns expressed in this thread are valid, but really, they are a "you problem."

Boeheim: "If you sold your tickets for this game, you should be ashamed because you made some money and missed an epic."

He's right, except for the "ashamed" part. Since when has Boeheim been anyone's moral barometer. I don't strive to please him. As an alumnus of the University and a donor, frankly, it's the other way around.

I can't believe there is an argument over this. If you want/have to sell your tickets, obviously there are thousands of SU fans willing to pay for them. Why would you not put in a little effort and sell them to an SU fan?

If I had a ticket that I couldn't use and someone was willing to pay me $3800 for it, the last thing I would care about is what team he's rooting for. I'd only care if the 38 Ben Franklins he's handing over to me are real.

I know someone who sold all the "big" games because he is getting married and needed the extra dough for his wedding. I guess he's a bad person/SU fan. This thread is ridiculous.

He's a scalper is what he is.

Capitalism at it's finest. This whole country was built on obtaining things at a lower price and selling them at a higher price.

Someone offered me $500 a ticket which i turned down however make no mistake if i needed the cash i would sell my tickets to patrick ewing.

Just a question - is it OK if season ticket holders sell their tickets to a game like Clemson but not to a game like Duke? I bought a season ticket this year because I had no other option at the time to get a Duke ticket at a reasonable price in a good section. I can't make all the games living out of town, so I normally go to about 4 games a year. Having a season ticket, I plan to go to 2-3 more this year. But I ask this question because I never see anyone complain about season ticket holders selling tix to lessor games.

yeah that and add a dash of gilloolyism .ruthlessly going for the kneecaps so to speak.

Although I usually just lurk, the responses to this thread are annoying.

There is difference between what is your "right" to do as a season ticket holder in a free society and what is the "right" thing to do as a fan of Syracuse sports. Of course everyone has the right to sell their tickets to the highest bidder and make as much money as possible. But if you do sell your tickets to someone who supports the other team, don't call yourself a fan. A fan does everything he can to make sure his/her team wins. And part of that is making sure every seat in the dome is Orange NOT Blue.

Home Court matters. You may not think a few seats matter but JB and the Syracuse players frequently remark about the positive impact of having Orange fans wherever they go. And think about how this board get energized when we hear LGO chants on TV from an opposing arena. Don't you think having supporters of our opponents in the Dome also has an impact?

At the BET last year my son was in the Syracuse student section (tickets cost $10 ea) and 2 students next to him scalped their tickets to G'town fans. My son was rightly appalled. Being a passionate fan should not have a price.
LGO!

Really, I can't see how this is any of your business...they aren't your tickets and you have no right to dictate to others...
This isn't about the government telling you what to do. It's about doing the right thing for the team of which you (hypothetically the seller) claim to be a fan. When you sell your soul to a duke fan to score a few bucks, you diminish the home advantage, subject your seat neighbors to Duke smack the whole game and insult your fellow SU fans.

Wow...pretty severe point of view, don't you think?

so it's a virtue for them to sell to us but a sin to sell to them ? which ring have i entered dante? USHER!!!

Just hypothetical (not addressed to you personally) only to those selling out to Duke ... something I would not expect from an SU fan as loyal as you. And for sure this rarely happens at Cameron Indoor. They have figured out how to close ranks. Hopefully, we'll do the same.

I personally wouldn't and always try to sell to posters here, but it's really not my place to dictate to others. That's all I mean...

since someone used reductio ad stalinum Bees the OP wins this argument. Godwin's Law

there are sooo many seats and sooo many resellers that buy season tickets simply to make a profit, its america and its capitalism, and some of these guys are banking laughing all the way while people moan about it

ive sold some home games out of my season ticket packages because i cant possibly make all of them or even find people to locally to give them to - im from rochester

all types of reasons that other people sell tickets to opposite fan base and its not a reason to be angry im a huge fan and i sell some tickets whoopedy doo

who really cares if other fans are there i would like to be able to go to road games and get reasonable tickets

if you're buying season tickets you can't afford then I see that as the real problem and to be honest I can't imagine buying my ticket and only attending a few games because I had to sell the biggest ticket of the season to afford it. No logic there I'm afraid.

I live in Albany and have season tickets. Every game I go to costs at the very minimum $100. If its a night game and I stay overnight it costs at least $250+ counting meals, lodging , gas etc so it's a lot more than just the price of tickets. I'll go to half the games and sell the other half. Even doing that there are a lot of non conference games that you are not going to be able to sell for face value.

I think JAB was referencing the season ticket holders who sold their tickets to Duke fans who sat courtside opposite the Cuse bench. I don't think he really cared about the couple of fans in the 300's.
