So this is year #2, has the program seen a positive (or negative) impact that can be credited with ACC affiliation?

Turnabout is fair play -- being an FSU fan, has SU acquitted themselves?

I always thought SU was a solid addition and knew their football program was past the Greg Robinson error era 2 years ago when it was announced SU was coming. The only thing the ACC botched in my opinion was the opportunity to realign the divisions that would get SU vs Miami and/or SU vs Duke would also be a good annual matchup.

Basketball was a homerun. Welcome aboard.

Good answer -- thanks -- hope you win Saturday. I edited my earlier response to include an “” before “being an SU” fan (which was my original intention) -- but am now hoping someone makes this sign before the FSU game: “SU fans don’t give an .”

EDIT: Better sign: “SU fans (or players) don’t around.”

How about..
FSU GO SU

Sounds like a solid chant for the student section.

Very clever.

Has recruiting picked up, more fans at the games, facility upgrades in the plans, anything like that?

Yes
No
Yes

Too early to tell on attendance. Only 1 home game played so far and against a FCS school,Villanova. Attendance was 41,189 for it which was pretty good. People are worried about the Maryland game but season ticket sales have increased this year but exact numbers haven't been released as far as I know. Could always improve.

Without the "unpleasantness" of 2003. they would have been in the Coastal Division w/BC as their cross-divison game.

From a football perspective, to early to tell. We entered with a new head coach. It seems recruiting is on the uptick but is it the new regime or being affiliated to the ACC? I don't know. Okay, if getting LSU to play in the Dome was because of our affiliation with the ACC I will say yes. ;)

We are basically reunited with half the old big East by joining the ACC so it really is back to the future.

Exactly! I get excited to watch Syracuse play. But there is no comparison there.

It has been positive.

Why? Because the school will make more money. Had it not come aboard, SU would have far less money and possibly, less money for the future. More money is better.

Facilities Upgrades = new indoor practice facility being built as we speak

Fans at games = Slowly improving. Our week 1 home crowd looked good and the dome will be full for FSU

New Indoor Practice Facility is underway.

Recruiting class filled up pretty quickly this year, our top rated class in years. Although we have had 2 flips already. Have to win enough games this season to not lose any more commitments.

Attendance for the Clemson home game was really outstanding. Great atmosphere until they knocked our blocks off.

I don't know if you came up here for the FSU game in around 2004. Close escape for the Seminoles. Night games in the Dome against a big time opponent can be a great, intimidating atmosphere. It gets very loud and claustrophobic for opponents when our team is good and the fans are into it.

I remember that game in 2004, seems that FSU racked up a lot of yards, but not a lot of points to show for it. I was watching from home.

For the SU admins, I think the biggest advantage of the ACC is the better class of company it keeps with this conference than in the BE. Will SU draw better students from up and down the East coast because of its connections to UVA, Duke, UNC, Wake, GaTech? Conference affiliation has helped other schools raise their academic profile in the past. For example, BE competition and an association with schools like SU, GTown, ND helped schools like Cincy to distance themselves from other public school competitors in the state. In the ACC, we're in a position to benefit from others rather than have them benefit from us.
