I am sure I will get killed for this

Adams and Howard had a combined 660 yards last season. Lets not pretend they are elite backs. Adams may have got to 1000 similar to Neal last year. They were valuable most importantly their experience in blitz pickup which Pierre struggled with and at 160 lbs Jordan will struggle with.

Right projected forward if they were the 2 backs. Never said elite but legitimate players at this level.

Recruiting is the problem. If we had better players, coaching wouldn’t be an issue. Talent wins. SU has little. We read about all year all year and the projections say the same. For some reason, SU fans think everyone is wrong and we have better talent than people give us credit. We’re wrong. Talent is low level ACC.
You saying that Syracuse pulling the 11th or 12th place ACC recruiting class every year won't propel the team to the top of the ACC? /s

Please. Whatever his issues are, no way he ever gets on the field with them.

Talk about a strawman.
Sure, but those types of things are unpredictable. The talent was there.

the guy isn't here, and hasn't been for awhile, why bring it up?
People said a player was never brought in to compete with TD. That wasn't true. Just because a guy didn't work out doesn't mean he wasn't brought in.

Dungey made plays in the middle of the field.
Tommy hasn't shown the ability to use that part of the field.
Tommy's first read is always to his right. I said this all last year. His pre-snap reads seem non existent. He has a favorite receiver (whoever lines up on his right) and he just forces throws to them. I would be interested to see an zone charts for passing. Percentage of throws to each quadrant.

That's one of my questions. Is it Tommy or coaching? In some ways it has to be coaching. Even if his tendency is to always look deep, you tell him to start looking short as the first option as a way to get drives going. It's like the basketball coach that tells his team to make at least 3 passes before anyone looks for a shot.

What part of needing more time and 5 more years for recruits to develop leads to calling the same run play all game, never throwing to the middle of the field, and running an offense as bad as anything Shafer threw out there.

DB isn’t going to change his offensive philosophy, so...

That was not a well coached team out there today

same stupid penalties. Mistakes. Time management issues

Sadly this is accurate.

How many times has some variation of the phrase “nO wAY tHiS iS ThE 13tH RaTeD cLaSs” been uttered over the last seven years?

Chance Amie?

the guy who can’t win a JUCO or community colllege starting QB job?
That guy?

Child, please.

IF he went someplace else, and did, well - ANYTHING AT ALL -
maybe, MAYBE this would be valid.

(hint - it’s not remotely valid.)
Think they are talking drew Gunther

interested to hear more about Jacobian and hopefully that hes not Kenterius

It's probably somewhere in this thread, but I just realized that by starting his 5th year, Dino is our longest tenured coach since P.

Not a great start to year 5, and there can of course be concerns when you voluntarily change both of your coordinators after year 4.

But we have to stick with the plan. Recruiting is picking up, and this is just not an easy place to recruit. No talent around us really makes it a tough job. I'm hopeful the re-vamped Dome will help recruiting as well.

Some of Dino's anecdotes are getting a little tiring, I will say (belief without evidence is great in the beginning, but it's year 5). But our best bet is to stay the course.

LOVED what I saw from the D today. We get anything from the O, and I think those guys could have sustained all 4 quarters.

I'm concerned, like others, that DeVito is more of a lab QB that does a couple of things really well, but you need more than that to win at Syracuse. He's still the best we have this year.

The one thing I don't need to think about anymore, is Dino leaving us for a bigger job. The bloom is off that rose. If he were to get it back after next season, he'll be 61, does he really want to start over somewhere else?

I think the frustrating thing is year 1 the offense was so quick and tempo and it was so fresh. There has been nothing fresh for 4 years. He doesn’t need to be fired but hopefully the coaching changes help somewhat but today wasn’t it offensively
Dungey

Ish, Amba and Erv + Dontae wasn’t a barn burner but he moved chains in the redzone
I think dungey deserves a ton of credit for what he did but it just feels like a slap in the face to all these others players like Strickland and Moe and Erv and all them that were amazing players that are in the shadow of dungey.
