Difference being historically we have at times been very very good in football, but I can not remember Clemson ever being considered top tier in basketball.

They've been to 11 NCAA Tournaments and made the Elite 8 once, in 1980. They've been to the Sweet 16 two other times. Amazing that we've been to more Sweet 16's since 2009 than they have in their history.

Yeah, that is crazy because the two basketball programs are on completely different tiers, and that isn't just what is happening lately. However, with football, it is. Historically, the two programs are actually very similar.

I don't get Clemson fans, I really don't. I'm not trying to put your football program down, but the perception among your fans is that you're this big powerhouse program when in reality, you are nothing of the sort. Yeah, you are on a very successful three year ride. However, just look at your own history and you will find that this ride is likely coming to an end soon.

Of course, I would change places with you in a heart beat right now because this has been painful. However, we will get through it and rise while slowly you will erode and have another stint of mediocre seasons. If you don't believe me, just spend some time and look at the history of the two programs... there really is little difference between the two over the years. Clemson fan... congrats on the past three years (seriously). However, try to get a grip on reality.

I don't see Clemson slipping back into mediocrity. They spend money, so they will always have top level coaches who will be able to bring in recruits. Their offensive coordinator makes as much as Scott Shafer.

i want to thank you , for reinforcing my belief that it was fate and destiny that we won the war of northern oppression. i have a great appreciation for the toothless ignorance that compliment you. fortunately most clemson fans are social,interactive ,well spoken, and have excellent tongue and cheek humor.

Why is it that everytime I see an SU fan arguing with another fanbase on the FOOTBALL BOARD, we seem to always retort with basketball references?!?! This inferiority complex just pumps up other fan base's assertion that SU is a basketball school. Keep the basketball on the basketball board. SU has more than enough tradition to support itself in a football argument without bringing basketball into it.
