Jim Brown and Don McPherson should also of won Heisman's!
How many fans (outside of Clemson fans) can tell you he was a HC at Clemson? 10%? 20%? How many fans can list a slew of Heisman trophy winners? 80%? 90%? IMO, the fact that he was HC at Clemson means a little less than nothing.

1. Let's see, 12 more wins and 49 more loses all-time, should pass you in the win column in 2 or 3 seasons. You will keep that loss total climbing.
2. Winning % did not matter in overall record why in the bowl record. You have 15 wins, we have 18.
3. John Heisman was a head coach at Clemson. I think that means a little more than one heisman trophy.
4. we win
5. you win
6. you win

Heisman spent 4 years at Clemson (19-3-2), 16 years at GA Tech (102–29–7, including a national championship) as well as stints at 6 other schools. Not exactly a "Clemson man".3. John Heisman was a head coach at Clemson. I think that means a little more than one heisman trophy.
Brown didn't win because of his race and i still don't know why McPherson didn't win. That pains me ... it truly does ... especially Brown ... ND should just mail the golden boy's Heisman direct to Jimmy ... he sure as hell didn't deserve it.

Gordy Lockbaum... a 2-way player for Holy Cross received a lot of votes from Northeastern voters. Without Lockbaum, McPherson may well have won the Heisman.Brown didn't win because of his race and i still don't know why McPherson didn't win.
Heisman was there two season lets not get carried away there Turbo ... he made his bones at GT ... thats like us claiming Biggie Munn who went on to folk lore at MSU ... I am glad that you can cling to the fact that he dumped you after two seasons but act like he was there two decades that is cute ... jilted lover syndrome?

We finally agree on something. Pretty good on SU history here.Because he didn't play for ND ... thats why ... if you switched those two athletes and placed them on opposite squads Donnie Mac is toting a trophy. He won the Maxwell that year ... should have had the Heisman too.

Well, that's exactly what you did. Pot - meet kettleI would say, no different than trying to claim 1 heisman trophy, as some kind of measure stick to prove superiority over another program where the man actually coached. Give me a break.
He was only head man 2 of those years ...

If Clemson can claim Heisman, can SU claim Saban?
I just want to make it clear... I'm a SYRACUSE ORANGE fan. Now that said, I agree the two teams aren't all that different. However, in today's landscape of college football, it's about 2 things.. Money and what you've done over the lifetime of the recruits you're trying to grab. History is irrelevant at this point, otherwise, Syracuse would be amongst the elite with their history. Clemson has demonstrated their commitment to their football program. Syracuse has invested more recently, but the disparity in the amount they're willing to pay their coaches as compared to other P5 schools definitely should keep them relevant.Success goes in cycles for every team and Clemson is currently on a high point... Clemson is very talented, especially on the defensive front this year. Clemson is more consistent with "successful" seasons in the last 25 years, but not overwhelmingly so. As recently as 2010 when SU was 8-5, Clemson was 6-7.
Clemson has 8 wins or more in a season 14 of last 25 seasons, and has had 10 or more wins 5 times (including the last 3 seasons in a row). Syracuse has 8 wins or more in 10 of last 25 seasons, and has had 10 or more wins 3 times.
Clemson has been below 0.500 in 4 of the last 25 seasons. SU has been below 0.500 in 7 of the last 25 seasons. Clemson's sub-0.500 seasons were spread out over that time period so they weren't so painful, while all 7 of SU's have been from 2002 until now.
made me laugh out loudPersonally I'm hoping Shafer smacks a Capri Sun right out of Dabo's hand this weekend.
