I JUST NEED TO KNOW HOW ANY1 IS BEATING US IN THAT ACCT

Should literally just stop playing him for the rest of the year
why? he has good moments and bad. he, kiyan and betsy are all inconsistent. each have had big games and bad. jj's actually the best defender of the 3 and the best ball handler. i dont know what or if anything happened yesterday, but jj came out at about the 16 min mark and never came back. he headed to the locker room then came back and rode the bike. doubt he was "benched". plus it was a fact the group out there was playing very well together, why change anything? i hope kiyan keeps playing like he did yesterday but if he doesnt people will call, again, for his benching.

I personally have had a feeling for a while now. Granted I’m an observer, not a basketball coach. The ceiling of this squad would rise with Kiyan starting and JJ coming off the bench. Ultimate minute differential is solely based on a game by game basis. I’m simply looking at this as the best chance to win games, big games. I feel like during Kiyan bad stretch when he was getting in, he was not playing enough with Naithan George. I feel like with Kiyan and Naithan they establish a rhythm to the game that makes others around them better as well. Again, I think JJ belongs on this team and he is key for this team getting to another level, but we seemed to attached to the idea of starting him because he did so on two prior teams that really didn’t accomplish enough. He’s had great moments in a Syracuse uniform. There will be games we need JJ’s driving to the basket, matchup defense, and slashing in big moments. But I think our best chance to establish a steady rhythm to the game is with George and Anthony at the 1 and 2. It’s not too late yet, the formula seems clear on what needs to happen for this team to reach its ceiling.

Betsey should be the three and Kingz the 2 in the starting lineup. Ship has sailed, but it’s too bad we didn’t get to that point ever.

Yep and run the offense primarily through Donnie, Kingz and Kyle then run with who’s hot between Betsey , Kiyan and JJ minutes wise. George we just need to be what he was yesterday for the rest of the year and adjust shot volume based on whether it’s falling.

Evan Miya who some people love.

I see the data there, just the thing to keep in mind though is that those top lineups are based on certain conditions.
no idea what these certain conditions are.

The best lineup, if everyone plays well, is George at PG, Kingz at 2G, Betsey at SF, Donnie at PF and Kyle at Center.

Those are the lineups that score and defend best. Those are the "conditions".

We are at the point in the season where you play the players who might be here next year.
This team isn't going to make the tournament, so get more time for the bench players down the stretch.

I struggle with Betsey’s play. He seems to have fumble hands a lot, he makes mistakes, when he’s off he’s really off. But Red kept him in the game Saturday and sure enough, he eventually got us some shots. But he seems so hesitant to shoot unless he’s stationary in the corner. He definitely does not play hero ball. I rarely criticize our players but Betsy just makes me twitch.

Of course, I obviously wish him well!

Given the terms of Red’s continued employment here, I’d have to imagine he’s only concerned with playing the players that give him the best opportunity to win.

I think he probably felt a twinge in one of his legs, maybe cramps. If he was badly hurt, he wouldn't be on the bike.

I agree, Peggy. He's not good enough to start, but he's a nice guy to have in the rotation.
He does seem to be trying to drive more, instead of just sitting at the 3 point line, waiting to hoist one. But, like you said, his dribble is weak.

I wish he was just a bit better from three. He's only had 3 games this year where he made 3 or more threes. That's not enough, for those who are saying he should start.

The fact is, while they might all play this well going forward, they have all been pretty up-and-down.

When George is turning it over, JJ takes over the point.

When Kiyan can't guard anyone, and has a bad scoring night (of which there have been many), then JJ gives you buckets. Maybe not efficiently, but when no one else is scoring, he can get buckets.

Betsey has nice form, but mostly only makes 1 or 2 threes most games. His handle is a bit shaky, too, but he rebounds and defends better than Anthony. But he doesn't offer enough consistency on offense to be a starter.

Kingz has been good all year long, even though he wasn't shooting well earlier in the year. But he has always made plays, rebounded, defended really well, rebounds, gets to the rim. He has played a lot, so there's no argument there, and now his 3 point shooting is coming around.

When these guys play well, run with them. When they slip up, that's when Red turns to JJ, and it's the right thing to do. He does a lot of things for us. He gives us energy when he races up the floor a few times a game. He's trying to win out there. I like that about him, flawed though he may be.
