Dumb call by the Seahawks. Dumb.

Sure he missed the kick, but the circumstances are different for that split second for the kicker with the whistles blowing and other chaos. A kicker missing like Bryant did at first is not indicative of what would have occurred if the surrounding chaos wasn't there.

I think it works for the opposite reason. I think the real strategy of "icing" the kicker is to, on occassion, not call the time out. That's the only thing that is going to throw any timing or thought process off. Remember it working for Belichick recently... Not sure he didn't do that last year in the afc championship game against Baltimore last year.

That timeout was way early - the kicker knew, everyone knew, he was probably just loosening his leg kicking it straight.
