He shoots free throws worse than Arinze, though. I've seen him miss a foot off to either side of the rim. It will be good to have BMK and Rak's 10 fouls to give.drummond is amazing. lamb will get it figured out. uconn will be very, very dangerous and soon. did i mention drummond is for real?
everyone in NCAA D1 would be doing backflips to have an 18 year old true frosh with the ability of drummond.I have been pretty critical of Drummond. I haven't seen the "greatness" that everyone was predicting... in fact he has looked pretty mediocre and just plain lost during many of the UConn games I have watched. Tonight though he looked pretty darn good.
Definitely grasping at straws. Lamb and Drummond are good, but neither have the capability to do what Kemba did last year, not a chance. Their team was more well-rounded last year to me; Roscoe Smith and Alex Ohraki have both regressed; Okwandu was a defensive presence and solid in the middle; and not to mention Kemba. Lamb to me looks alot more comfortable being the #2 guy as opposed to the g0-to-guy.I find the UConn fans funny. They talk how they were 9-9 in the BE last year to justify their start to the year. Of course, they forget that their losses came to @ Pitt, ND (x2), Louisville (x2), Marquette, @ WVU, Syracuse and @ St. John's. Which is equal to SHU, Rutgers and UCF. And WVU playing strong tonight so we'll see.
Even look at last night. Lamb put up 25, and it still took a huge night from Drummond for the Huskies to get over 60. Until they can get Boat/Bazz on track and consistency from the 3 spot, they aren't an issue.Think that is going a bit too far. I'll take UConn +20 when they come to the dome if you want to bet.
...Yet with all that UConn barely won, and might not have if the ref correctly called the ball off Ohraki's hands with about 30 seconds to play under WVU's basket.
Lamb had 25 and 8 last night
Drummond had 20 and 11 (9/11 shooting)
Ohraki had his highest point output in almost a month
That was the loudest I've heard the XL center in a while
Truck Bryant only played 8 minutes in the first half and was 2/13 for the game
Yet with all that UConn barely won, and might not have if the ref correctly called the ball off Ohraki's hands with about 30 seconds to play under WVU's basket. Lamb hasn't put up 25 since Nov. 20th and Drummond has had 20 since Dec. 18th; yet they still barely won.
Fact is their 3 position is a mess, Napier looks lost, Ohraki is still a headcase, and Boatright weighs about 120lbs so who knows what he will be able to do in BE play.
UConn might be scary to the rest of the BE; but they don't have the horses or depth to stick with us. We can let Lamb get his and still beat this team by 20, easily.
I don't think there is any conspiracy to hold down Cuse, WVu, or Pitt. That was just a horrible call.
