we should be rooting for UConn tonite :bang:

But its a little early to be worrying about standings, so lets go west virginia! :D

I hope UConn continues their overrated, suck fest. Their fans have been so damn obnoxious.

Yeah! I'm all in for UConn auguring hard into the bottom of the cellar in the Big East. UConn fans talk more crap than proctologists. After it was announced that Drummond was going to play for UConn this season most all the ESPNites had UConn leapfrog over Syracuse in their predicted Big East rankings. Frankly, Drummond looks horrible for the most part. Their team has zero chemistry and for Jim Calhoun, Karma is a beotch Jim! I was raised in Connecticut and there cannot be a person in the world who loathes UConn Basketball/ Laptop supply more than I do.

I find the UConn fans funny. They talk how they were 9-9 in the BE last year to justify their start to the year. Of course, they forget that their losses came to @ Pitt, ND (x2), Louisville (x2), Marquette, @ WVU, Syracuse and @ St. John's. Which is equal to SHU, Rutgers and UCF. And WVU playing strong tonight so we'll see.

drummond is amazing. lamb will get it figured out. uconn will be very, very dangerous and soon. did i mention drummond is for real?

He shoots free throws worse than Arinze, though. I've seen him miss a foot off to either side of the rim. It will be good to have BMK and Rak's 10 fouls to give.

I have been pretty critical of Drummond. I haven't seen the "greatness" that everyone was predicting... in fact he has looked pretty mediocre and just plain lost during many of the UConn games I have watched. Tonight though he looked pretty darn good.

everyone in NCAA D1 would be doing backflips to have an 18 year old true frosh with the ability of drummond.

Work continues to replace Lincoln with Drummond on Mt Rushmore...

Agree Uconns fans are so dang confident especially after last years luck run and seeding against teams with crap backcourts the last 3-4 games to win it.

On the other hand we got a MU team that took charges galore on a off scoring year. Kinda sucks really.

I guess I dislike them so much that I built a perception that you have to be forced to succeed rooting for them.
Thats what makes syracuse basketball different its likeable reguardless of being forced. Maybe thats why they do good because they are so unlikebale. Can't say I am not jealous of their success the last 20 years.

But got to say we are more like the 03-04 uconn team right now, and they were like the 02-03 syracuse team last year. brings back memories.

Drummond looks good and is a class act for giving up his full ride till next year. That being said I hope they lose the rest of their games!

Lamb had 25 and 8 last night
Drummond had 20 and 11 (9/11 shooting)
Ohraki had his highest point output in almost a month
That was the loudest I've heard the XL center in a while
Truck Bryant only played 8 minutes in the first half and was 2/13 for the game

Yet with all that UConn barely won, and might not have if the ref correctly called the ball off Ohraki's hands with about 30 seconds to play under WVU's basket. Lamb hasn't put up 25 since Nov. 20th and Drummond has had 20 since Dec. 18th; yet they still barely won.

Fact is their 3 position is a mess, Napier looks lost, Ohraki is still a headcase, and Boatright weighs about 120lbs so who knows what he will be able to do in BE play.

UConn might be scary to the rest of the BE; but they don't have the horses or depth to stick with us. We can let Lamb get his and still beat this team by 20, easily.

Definitely grasping at straws. Lamb and Drummond are good, but neither have the capability to do what Kemba did last year, not a chance. Their team was more well-rounded last year to me; Roscoe Smith and Alex Ohraki have both regressed; Okwandu was a defensive presence and solid in the middle; and not to mention Kemba. Lamb to me looks alot more comfortable being the #2 guy as opposed to the g0-to-guy.

Think that is going a bit too far. I'll take UConn +20 when they come to the dome if you want to bet.

Even look at last night. Lamb put up 25, and it still took a huge night from Drummond for the Huskies to get over 60. Until they can get Boat/Bazz on track and consistency from the 3 spot, they aren't an issue.

Now, all those things can certainly happen before we see them in a month, but so far they haven't.

That's fine and I agree with most of it, I think UConn isn't ready to contend for the BE title right now, I have no issue with that. We're clearly the best team in the conf. I'm still taking UConn +20 is all.

Drummond did look a little scary last night though. Fab vs him should be a very good matchup.

Drummond was impressive last night.
Thing is though, WV absolutely stunk the entire 2nd half and still had a chance to win vs Lamb going off for 25 and Drummond's 20/11.
Like someone said above, until uconn figures out the 3 position and until Napier gets some consistency, they are going to continue to struggle. and, except for shot blocking, they're playing poor defense as well.

ABSOLUTELY! What a lousy call that was. On the replay there was zero question that the ball was off of Ohriaki. Cost WVU the game.

How about an over-the-top conspiracy theory that Big East refs are told to not give WVU, Pitt & Syracuse the benefit of any doubt and that when they can - make a call against these three teams?

Last night's call against WVU and the entire SU-Providence game with the foul descrepency (in Providence btw) add fodder to it.

Haven't seen enough Pitt BE games but I'm thinking that maybe we could find some in that loss to DePaul.

of course napier got tackled at half court last night (harder than any LSU player last night), losing control, having to scramble to the ball and call time out, instead of taking FT's.

good point, capt, that was a bad missed call as well.

Drummond looked pretty good last night against WVU. Guy will be a beast in short order. Lots of skill combined with scary size and athleticism. Fortunately he won't be there for long.

I don't think there is any conspiracy to hold down Cuse, WVu, or Pitt. That was just a horrible call.

Well of course, but still - flagrantly bad call calls or non-calls like that just make you scratch your head.
