He's also been about 100 percent positive toward the players. He's a master coach and psychologist. I assume the convo tonight and this week is that they need to stay focused because losing now is sooo painful.Orangeman said:He did a nice job in four areas: 1) Subs were pretty I strong I felt overall...seemed to hit the right numbers 2). Press, enough's been said 3) Removing the ball screen which was only complicating match-ups. 4). Finally guarded Perrantes, which should have happened out of the locker room but still, solid adjustment It's OK, on a fan message board, to over the course of the season, mention where there are errors made in a season with 13 losses...but clearly the team has grown and the Coach has learned to coach them
I sat next to an NBA scout (who knew a ton about high-school and college players, of course) on an Amtrak train between NYC and DC over the Christmas season. He predicted Syracuse might have a very dark period (5+ years) once Boeheim leaves. He thought not only that Boeheim is a great coach, but that it will be much harder to recruit players to SU. When I said that I thought Hopkins was a good recruiter he replied, "He's good at recruiting kids to play for Jim Boeheim. Jim is one of the more admired coaches among young players. They've seen him coaching all their lives at the same school. That kind of stability can be appealing for kids who may not have a strong male role model in their lives."
While I hope he's wrong about any sort of dark period following Jim's retirement, I do recognize he's one of the best the game has ever had.

Tonight you choose to post this uplifting message? From now on maybe we should just call you, Mr Buzz Kill
I don't think that Nba scout knows what he is talking about, The Brand that Jb has built will attract recruits, along with the Carrier dome and the Melo center.
