Unless you've surveyed every person who has attended a sporting event in the Dome over the last 4 years, how do you know?

Common sense. Of which I have. Just to be safe though, I'll give you 1.

I think the Yankee Stadium ads are a good idea. It's good for brand awareness but it's not going to be effective for football until SU starts to win and more NY alumni/others want to be affiliated with the brand (& winning).

I was told the chancellor at TCU was speaking at a luncheon, he mentioned that what the football team really wanted was $7 million for a new indoor practice facility (this was a few years ago). Two hours later at the end of the luncheon, he was approached by 2 gentlemen who said they would like to help. "Thats great!" said the chancellor "how much can you donate?"
"Oh, the whole $7 million" they said.

Heard that there is activity over on the IPF site this morning. Was told that a crew was working on the turf field (removing it?). Going to try and head over that way later to take a look...hoping this means things are moving forward.

Talked to someone in the know today. He said construction was going to start soon

Not all marketing is about directly selling tickets - if you think that your vision is very near sighted.

Most marketing is about building a brand (hate to use that terminology - but's the way it is). Syracuse looking to extend it's brand into the biggest media market in the world, at it's #1 stadium? It's a no brainer.

maybe we are pulling a clemson and just putting the backo in place until the funds come in.

Yes, I think. When you said "Didn't put a single fanny in the Dome seats" you're inferring that it's not money well spent.

That sign is one of the better ideas SU marketing has had.

They are removing the turf field. Let's see if it's finished in May/June as scheduled

These things never finish on time. I'd be surprised if this did.

The owner of the Sabres, a Penn State grad, gave Penn State $84 million to build a hockey facility.

Why are they removing the turf thats there? Its like two years old. I thought they were gonna just build around it and keep the same turf.

Cost of doing business...probably cheaper to rip it up.

im not sure digging it up means you cant reuse it.. it goes down in pieces

My best guess, there will be quite a bit if equipment moving around in there to erect the structure. Even if it comes in pieces there will be a lot of action where the turf would be. They may just be pulling it up with the intention of putting it back down.
