Is Cooney the best...

Other than Rak, who do you think is better than Cooney?

What is more rational? Bashing Cooney non-stop? Or saying he is a good 4 yr player here?

He isnt going to be an all pro. But he is going to leave here with 1500 points and have opportunities to play professional basketball.

The bashers are delusional. And wrong.

you and RF2044 (and a few others) are such diehard over the top Cooney supporters, i chuckle. Thats what makes sports great, opinions will vary. I can watch a guy shoot 2 for 10 and barely draw iron on half of them and think "man, this guy is just not good" and you can watch the same game and think "the other team is blanketing trevor, he doesnt get any screens to get open, hes obligated to force at times". And i guess neither of us is wrong.

I think i can speak for every single person who is critical of Cooney when i say that we all want him to be a huge success now and in the future. We all know that he is the best of the mediocre cast we have right now at 2 guard, but on a good team he is ideally the 7th or 8th guy. He needs to keep chucking because sadly BJ and G cant make ANYTHING. He also certainly is the vocal leader on this team, which we need... but is it working? We are about to be 6-4 come next weekend.

That is bunk. First of all, I support the team--not individual players. The difference between us is that I'm more objective than you because I don't have an anti-player agenda that clouds my judgement and prevents me from evaluating things accurately. When Cooney plays poorly, I have no problem acknowledging that--I'm often quite critical of his play on this forum. It's you who is incapable of acknowledging when he plays well.

You are so overzealous in your imperative to bash the player, that you can't even tolerate any accolades that go his way on the forum even when he DOES play well and they are deserved. It is as though you are so firmly entrenched in your expression of how bad a player he is that you can't give him credit for anything, even when it is deserved. And it is this lack of objectivity that reveals your bias. And frankly, it is as tiresome and over the top as the pro-Cooney can do no wrong crowd.

He should start learning to speak Italian.

I am like you. I am not so much critical of players as I am how they are playing. I would really like to see more inside outside passing like the way Rak passed it back out to TC who was stepping straight on to take a 3-pointer. Any player stepping into a shot is going to do better than coming off a screen in a mad dash. I think that's my criticism. Not so much TC. But how the team is getting TC the ball.

I saw a basketball player against La Tech, not a shooting specialist and I really enjoyed seeing that from Cooney.
