What more is there to do after coaching both your sons in their last year of eligibility? What more is there out there for JB to experience, or prove? It can't get any better.

I don't know that it will happen that way, but doesn't it make sense?

Win another natty. Wouldn't shock me if he has two more years of coaching in him.

he will coach as long as he is allowed. By either the University or God. What else is he going to do?

GMac as next head coach after JB retires. Is there a reason why we hear no buzz about Red being considered for other HC jobs? Fordham opened up this year and no mention of our coach interviewing in his hometown

Having your name in the same sentence as Fordham is a career killer forget actually being the coach

Can I apply to be the president at my company, too? I have no experience leading an organization but i once helped win a huge contract about 20 years ago.

Unless they told Lands who the coach would be
It’s not impossible but I’m not sure it’s reasonable to expect a 5 star calibre athlete who’d probably field offers from UL, Indiana, insert whatever top 25 program here later in the process, to commit being told that.

I definitely agree with you but I’m just playing devils advocate

What's that saying..."FROM CRADLE TO GRAVE"......never retiring health withstanding

He needs 18 more wins to get back to 1,000 which is definitely doable next season. But I expect between 2-4 more seasons at the helm.

I hope next year is it but if I had to guess it would be two years. Or maybe if too many reporters and fans start asking him about a timeline he will stay longer just to spite them. Maybe he will wait for Jimmy or Buddy to have a son and see if the grandkid has D1 potential :)

If you have not read the Daily Orange article you should and then go to Axe's vault and listen to "Jim from Jamesville"...can't miss offseason entertainment.

I guess it boils down to who is actually making the call. JB has said he is coaching until he can no longer win.
I take that as being as long as the Orange continue to at least be in contention for a NCAA tournament bid.
What else is the guy going to do?

I expect JB to be coaching until he is 80. Can I see him retiring sooner if, say, Hop either turns around UW or is fired? Sure. But all things considered, if he keeps winning and feels mentally and physically capable of handling the ship, I believe JB will hang in there.

I think JB will retire if Buddy makes the NBA, or maybe even G league, so that he can follow his career and attend several games.

I think that Jim will coach one more year
