Verbal commitments mean ZERO in this era of college hoopsUnless they told Lands who the coach would be

Its hard to see JB here for very long after Buddy.
I think Buddy stays 2 more unless he has an amazing year and is a lock to go 1st round.
I also can see JB stepping down in the middle of a season to give one of the assistants the job and prevent an external search.
Regardless...JB is the only P5 coach who has 2 of his own kids on his team and contributing. For that reason alone people should chill the out on the retirement talk for the next couple years and stop asking him about it non stop.
Why do you think the NCAA will do that? And if then, why not now? Besides the general d-baggery.I don't see being over 1,000 wins as a driver for JB. He knows after he retires that the NCAA will give him those back. We all do.
I think he coaches his boys until they leave. And then steps aside.
Seems like something they do after a coach moves on. And not now because it sets precedent they don't want. Why do you think the NCAA will do that? And if then, why not now? Besides the general d-baggery.
Someone said this recently: They’ll give him the wins back once they know he won’t catch K.Why do you think the NCAA will do that? And if then, why not now? Besides the general d-baggery.
The only way Jim can’t win is if he has passed away...he isn’t going anywhere as long as his health remains in tact. He will get another national title and the all times win title...book it
Weekend at Boeheim's?The only way Jim can’t win is if he has passed away...he isn’t going anywhere as long as his health remains in tact. He will get another national title and the all times win title...book it
Like I said, d-baggery!Someone said this recently: They’ll give him the wins back once they know he won’t catch K.
Zero?Verbal commitments mean ZERO in this era of college hoops
My head may be in the sand but yours is obviously in a location on your anatomy. You can count on JB leaving next spring. There is no way he will continue after both sons are finished. Jimmy’s done and Buddy won’t stick around just to pad his numbers. The Boeheim era ends next spring so get used to it. For those still holding on to the notion of it continuing, it’s time to take your head out of the sand. As for any commitments by then, they might honor them, but I wouldn’t put money on it. Allegiance in this day and age is fickle at best. And as for Gmac becoming the next HC, you better hope not. Hopkins? They’ll certainly offer but I don’t see that happening either. Can you imagine? Another 20 years of nothing but 2-3 zone. That’s what we’ll get.

You guys aren’t understanding the context of the post. Has nothing to do with Bazley or Battle. It has to do with Lands commitment means zero relative to knowing who the next coach is. No one “told” lands what JB would do or who the next would be. He would just ditch his verbal, it’s meaningless long term. The portal makes this stuff even less so.Dude, c'mon.
We've been on the wrong side of them (Bazely) AND the right side of them (Tyus Battle).
But those are both exceptions. Very rare exceptions.
I'd wager that 90+% of verbals are kept, even in these recent past years.
Read my response to comstock. My post was in response to lands “knowing” who the next coach isZero?
Lol most verbal commits attend the schools they committed to.
The Devil wants to collect the debt for 2003?I've thought he'd find a way to sneak into the NBA all along.
I can't see him leaving Syracuse with eligibility for anything other than the NBA. Some records should be within reach and if anything it will give his dad another year of not having to answer a million questions about retirement.
Any hints why he'd leave with a year on the table to not play pro ball?
Love your posting and info...these kind of posts kill me. Ha ha. Not against you...I totally get it.I thought Buddy was going to be here for two more years as well. But he won't be. And the reason would surprise you but it is very doubtful he will return for a 5th year.
He hates Syracuse and his parents?I thought Buddy was going to be here for two more years as well. But he won't be. And the reason would surprise you but it is very doubtful he will return for a 5th year.
