How different and unrecognizable this SU team is from the teams we've had the past 40 or so years, for good and bad.

The good:
  • We have a lot of depth. Everyone can play a little-No cat rescuers.
  • Our Centers have some skill.
Bad:
  • No go-to player. No top 15 player in the Conference.
  • We don't have one really good finisher. The best finisher on the court last night was Cox and it wasn't really close. I never thought I'd see the day where in a game against Colgate, they'd have the best athlete and finisher on the court. JJ is our best one, but he's above average at best. Miss guys like Tyus Battle, Hakim Warrick, zDevo, even Mintz (Yeah, I said it) who could really finish.
  • We don't have a shot blocker, at least one who plays (can't count Mcleod if he doesn't play)
Neutral:
Obviously different seeing us play exclusively man so far.

Yeah, and we made Cox look a lot better than what he'll be able to do against some decent defensive teams this year. A lot of bad defense.

JJ would be a so much better finisher if he could just use his left hand. He misses all of layups on the left side of the rim because he shoots them right handed.

It’s hard to say the last 40 years since the last 10 has been bad to mediocre. This team doesn’t feel much different than the teams that got blown out by Colgate.

That’s a coaching issue if he can’t go left. At this level every player should be able to go both ways, especially a guard

Guards are bad and need to improve very quickly.

I like the 2 6th year senior rebounders and Donnie. Bell has improved where he used to stink might not have the total package to be best player on the court every night but hes rounded out well and we know he can go off.
