I’m guessing we won’t even notice. It will be good experience. I’d say Kerr and Long.Which young DBs do you think we will see in the bowl?

No Lewis was great. PFF lost me because I watched the angles that were taken, the poor coverage displayed and the int’s that were dropped.Did pff lose you after they had Lewis as our best and he went on to be all ACC 3rd team? Bellamy also had the second lowest percentage of missed tackles, led the team in INTs with 2 (not a strong suit for the DB) and was 2nd in pass breakups.
In the words of a very philosophical MSU fan-- "we are all just water".That's healthy.
We're still all going to die some day anyway.
Seems like an ideal spot to plug and play a couple 1 year CBs.We have 5 freshman CBs coming in, I believe. Any chance they are ready? I would prefer we get a couple portal CBs with experience.
Yeah this is why there needs to be a lot more transparency about all of it. Guys should be able to look at how much others at their position are making, what the last guy at the schools who are looking for their position got, and sort of piece it together.I am going to guess there is an enormous amount of players shooting themselves in the foot -- where their current school offers them say $100k, they get with their agent and demand $200k, the school balks, they get in the portal and don't get nearly the interest they thought they would and end up portaling to a different school for only $50k.
It's a sad situation for both parties because if you're Fran you absolutely cannot risk sitting there saying "well Calvin Russell was willing to commit but we couldn't afford him because we caved to the demands of Jayden Bellamy and Marcellus Barnes."
It's all a business, and they should look out for their own best interests. As long as they're bought in when they walk through the doors and do their part and bust their ass, I'm not going to blame them for chasing the best offers when the opportunity arises. Disappointed to see some of them go? Absolutely, But they shouldn't have to take less just to make us happy or protect the product of college sports. College football is a multi-billion dollar a year product/economy depending on how you want to look at it.Alot of these players are bag chasers and will transfer 4 or 5 times to different schools each time thus watering down the product of college sports.
I thought Lewis was pretty average and could see why ND let him to. At least, I thought I didDid pff lose you after they had Lewis as our best and he went on to be all ACC 3rd team? He did come to us from Notre Dame so I’m sure he’s familiar with the transfer process and differences that are experienced between programs.I sense he did not ask Deuce and/or Ja'Had Carter about their experience.
With this move, Bellamy is also signaling that he is not an NFL caliber player, and so he is trying to maximize the here and now. “Lets me get every nickel I can.” If so, good for him for having that realization. And eventually, good for us.
I just see it as short sighted. But I am just a fan.
If that's true, and he thought he would lose his position to a freshman, then let him go. We definitely have some good guys coming in, but I was hoping not to see much of them for at least a year.He probably saw the writing on the wall with 2 four star defensive backs coming in from Florida. One is a corner but these kids aren’t coming here to sit. I hear the staff is pretty happy with their DB haul this class.

I can't argue with that. But, are you thinking starters? Both Florida kids could be back in Florida after next season so play’em.
Thatd be awesome if our secondary didnt play so poorly for a large part of this year. Of our units I thought they had the most room for improvement. Coverage was underwhelmingThe point is, he was better than the others except for Lewis. The objective data says so too. Led the team in INTs, 2nd to Lewis in PBUs and 2nd to Lewis on the team in lowest missed tackle percentage. Pff says he was our 2nd best DB also. All checks out.
There's a great opportunity to upgrade multiple position groupsThatd be awesome if our secondary didnt play so poorly for a large part of this year. Of our units I thought they had the most room for improvement. Coverage was underwhelming
That just tells me that they don't buy in to DART, and they are actually expendable. As we get closer to 100% buy in, we get closer to conference and national championships. Some chase money and fade...while others make a buck and strive for more.
Onto the next strivers
Positive way to look at it. But there are some challenges ahead, especially with the 2025 schedule. Wax, Diggs and Barron leave big shoes to fill. Same on the back end with Lewis, Barnes, Bellamy, and Clark OOE or portaling. Offense also has some holes. WR and slot are good. But we lose LA, we don’t have a center, RT, or starting caliber QB, a guy to kickoff or someone who can hit a FG longer than 40 yards. There’s work to do In these areas. There's a great opportunity to upgrade multiple position groups
I agree, but do you lack faith in this staff in putting in the required work? We'll be better next year.Positive way to look at it. I do have faith, just noting the challenges and doing a little hand wringing.I agree, but do you lack faith in this staff in putting in the required work? We'll be better next year.
Spare your hands, just sit back and let Fran and Co. do the work.I do have faith, just doing a little hand wringing.
Same.I thought Lewis was pretty average and could see why ND let him to. At least, I thought I did
Hopefully McCordYea interested in what we do with NIL, some insiders have said around 12 Million we have and outside of Pena and Watson I wonder who’s getting a lot of the money.
