JB and Bryant coach got into it after the game

I think it's fair to say I've been pretty critical of JB. I 100% back him going after their coach and team in this situation. Bringing ejected players back out to celebrate is one of the scummiest things I've seen in hoops. Totally classless.

Not just classless, as I understand it it's not permissible. Should earn the ejected players a suspension.

If you're going to schedule pre-conference cupcakes, then make sure they're cupcakes you can beat.

“For some reason JB thinks there is value in playing good mid majors”.

You can only lose playing teams like this with nothing to gain. Still it's sickening that we now lose regularly to mid majors.
.
These are not great teams that we’re losing to. Nowadays every mid-major is a “good mid-major” to SU, because we’re not too far above that level.
Two words: IT’s TIME!

He got mad cause Bryant players mocked crowd and than ran to the tunnel instead of going in handshake line

It was classless.
Why? Because JB resented Bryant celebrating and not being available to shake hands?
Here’s a suggestion…. How about you just beat the plucky mid-major and prevent the a-hole who just outcoached you from showing you up, so there’s no need to complain about some bs etiquette of the game. Capiche’?

No. Because he justifiably took exception to their ejected players being back out on the court.

Regardless of what JB did or did not do (and I am NOT a JB apologist), the act by the Bryant coach (to be clear I'm referring to the hand movements/wave as he was walking off the court) was classless in and of itself. Just walk off the floor and celebrate in the locker room.

It looked like he was waving “Bye” to people in the stands who were likely booing him and/or worse. If that’s something that gets our panties in a wad, we’ve got problems.

Oh, and by the way, we’ve got problems.

If they did bring suspended players out to celebrate, that’s uncool, and should be addressed by officials—if that’s a violation of rules. I don’t remember seeing that ever before, so I wonder if it’s even against the rules. It’s tacky, but there’s no reason for JB to be dealing with that on the court. Nothing good can come of that. If JB wants to be the moral compass for Judah, he also needs to not be reactionary and emotional on the court.

What were the player(s) ejected for? Was it that heated a game?

I didn't watch the game (I couldn't get the broadcast here) - was watching the Raptors instead and only following this one a bit.

I was at the game so didn't have the benefit of replay or commentary but 1 was ejected for slapping Mintz, the other two for something they did in the festivities after the slap.

It was the most heated game I've seen in a long time and had the game not been close, I really think it would have boiled over again. Their team was a bunch of punks.

Mintz was called for a charge, and his legs got tangled up with the defender who drew the charge. As Mintz was walking away, Edert (corny mustache guy from St. Peter’s) shoved Mintz around the shoulder. Mintz walked by, and gave Edert what I would best described as a look away slap on the cheek. Edert then took a wild swing at Mintz, and hit him in the side of the head.

JBA charged after Edert and Edert literally ran and hid between teammates.

Red and AG were ejected, as were Mintz, Edert and two other Bryant scrubs.

Following the ejection, Taylor got run and played very well. Benny and Hima were sick; Joe sucked yet again.

Thanks for the detailed summary.

If a guest is being disrespectful in your house, you have every right to call them out for out. It's the ONE thing he did do well tonight IMHO.

It’s totally embarrassing that JB is calling out a mid (low?) major team for beating you on your home court in a buy game. Of course, Bryant was going to celebrate for beating Syracuse in the Dome as this was probably their best all-time win. If you don’t want them to celebrate on your home court, beat them!

I'll say it for the 10th time. Bringing the ejected players out to celebrate totally warranted being called out.

Agree. Also not a Boeheim apologist. But for those who are apportioning blame here, put yourself into both of their shoes: would you rather wake up tomorrow morning having done what Boeheim did or what the Bryant coach did?

This is Syracuse basketball! Syracuse basketball! You don’t lose buy games to crappy teams! I don’t care if ejected players went on the court to celebrate like you do. You should care that Syracuse lost a buy game to a crappy team!

To be fair now I understand why he talked to the Bryant coach after the game and I’d never play Bryant ever again

I care about both. Like I said, it's the only thing he did right tonight. And FYI, I've been accused of being a JB "hater" on this board.
