one would think a 50 year old coach with 27 years experience doesn't need interview practiceGood practice for the future, I hope.

he was one in Carolina on a interim level. I highly doubt Jeff was sitting in Syracuse thinking the interview with Houston would be good practice but to each his own. Neither of us will ever knowHas he ever interviewed for an NFL OC position before?
Not only is Will Nixon good enough to warrant being our 3rd down back, he may even get more carries than Willis as he got more carries than Willis early in 2024 before the injury. But he's got 2 kids in school this year, including his son on the team, who he could really highlight in the offense. He is good enough to warrant being our third down back.
I hope he comes back for 1 more year. Yes, it's selfish. Yes, we might take a step back this year. But I see reasons for him to stay. He's still going to get his opportunity, even if it takes until year 3. In Fran I trust, and these kids they have recruited will be more mature and indoctrinated into the system.
He interviewed because he wants the job. Period. This isnt a kid coming out of HSone would think a 50 year old coach with 27 years experience doesn't need interview practice
You always take the interviews. It builds reputation that are are the “next guy” in lineIf he didn't want the job he probably wouldn't have interviewed
I think Will is a good backup back and has really good wiggle but Willis is the horse that we wanna use and he catches ball pretty well too. I think he learned the time he fumbled towards end of season and how important it is to hold on to the ball. I think he has pro potential and honestly thought he was taught really well bye having Allen there to show him the ropes. We are set here in my head at least. Not only is Will Nixon good enough to warrant being our 3rd down back, he may even get more carries than Willis as he got more carries than Willis early in 2024 before the injury.
Hopefully Willis turns into what we need fast. He didn't exactly pop all that much as freshman like we all hoped and though he would. I agree on Willis having likely the higher upside and I would think in his Sophomore season he likely overtakes Nixon for a larger share of the carries but I would guess Nixon gets a good share of totes and receptions as well in somewhat shared duties.I think Will is a good backup back and has really good wiggle but Willis is the horse that we wanna use and he catches ball pretty well too. Agreed. He looked excellent in the spring game. That is a large reason why he had such high expectations coming into the season. I suspect he'll get there and look really good next season. May just need more reps. When I saw Willis at the spring game last year, he was a runaway train. He barreled over guys and had very good speed.
See I thought he did pop but as a coach u want to give most to Allen cause u know he is gonna get stuff done. Willis like allen didnt seem great in beginning of year but as we ran more power we started hitting a bit more on runs and willis was doing what I thought a frosh would do and he even right before his fumble had a few really nice runs. If u get time try and check out his highlights for this year. I think we are set.Hopefully Willis turns into what we need fast. He popped more as a freahman than Allen did and Allen took a huge step as a sophomore. Hopefully, Willis can have a similar jump.Hopefully Willis turns into what we need fast. Yes. He interviewed for the Cowboys OC position before. Believe it was the year before he came to Syracuse.Has he ever interviewed for an NFL OC position before?

Yeah Nixon to OSU at this time would be more bizarre than Knowles to PSU.Ohio State football OC candidates: 6 options to replace Chip Kelly

His overall 36 carries for 130 yds for 3.6 yds/car and 1 TD was just OK. But yeah he did have a few solid runs i can remember. Its such a small sample size and one more bigger run and his stats look great. I think he's better than the stats indicate. But when your expecting someone to be the starter the next year it would have been nice to have seen more proof of excellence. Pretty sure he's going to be solid though. And Nixon will surely get a good chunk of carries as well and I like what he adds.He popped more as a freahman than Allen did and Allen took a huge step as a sophomore.
