Jim Larranaga stepping down

Red has shown exactly nothing in coaching ability, done nothing to show he could fix this mess. Comparing Red to Tony Bennett or Jim Larranaga is one of the most laughable things I've ever heard.

We have way, way too many GHLF’s running around too invested in their personal relationships and access for this thing to be turned around. WHEN we fire Red (which sadly probably won’t be after this dumpster fire of a season), these clowns will be complaining we didn’t give him one more year.

Stick a fork in Syracuse basketball - it’s done. We’re going to be as relevant as DePaul has been for 35+ years going forward; this is the “new norm”.

And guys like GHLF won’t admit it - but they are fine with that as long as they can keep getting their egos stroked.

And to think, I have never even talked to you. Just 1 question, do you donate? I hate ego by the way. No worries. Was just expressing my opinion concerning times and other factors. I am not invested out of concern for popularity, thanks for your time. Your prognosis will shrivel.

When I co-oped for a major computer maker in the late 80s a guy in my department was semi-revered “by proxy” simply because his Dad was badge number 6 from way back in the day. By that time 3-digit badges were gods and very rare.

Was in my first year at George Mason for grad school when Jim led them on their run to the Final 4. Got student tickets to Indianapolis right behind the basket. Such a fun time! He was a very good coach IMO.
that was a true Cinderella, rather than a mediocre P5 team making a run. GM's run that year was unbelievable.

Only one free transfer per four years.

You realize the opposite is going to happen right?

Larranaga is 75 and he would be 76 before next season starts and coaching in the ACC takes a lot of passion and energy. He is a really good coach, but it was time to go as his recent record going back to the end of last year is not good as he lost 10 in a row to finish out last season and he is 4-8 to start this season.

And yet countless people you have never talked to face to face "...have no clue what has occurred over the past 10 years on the Hill."

If everyone could be so blessed.

Sounds good

Do you think there are any " Old Dudes" who are the greatest coaches in the history of this game that WANT to get in next with this garbage system with no rules?
Those old guys loved the plantation system when they had all the power.

yeah the system is so much more functional when 18 yo's have all the power - let me know how it works out
Are games still being played? Does each contest still end with a winner and a loser? Are tickets still sold to the games? Are games still televised?

So does this old fan. Love the plantation throw in when it took me into my 30's to pay off college loans. These poor tortured student athletes.
