Judah a second round pick from BR

Of course, but 35% from 3 and he may have been an all star
He's made a small mint by being in the league for 7 years as a so-so player, nice to be an all-star but it's also nice to be a multimillionaire playing 15 minutes a game

Unfortunately, SU isn’t his only option for another year of education.
Yeah, this would be my biggest concern — a huge NIL deal somewhere else with a better shot at doing damage in the tourney.

Where? There shouldn’t be many b-ball programs who could pull that off on us. This isn’t football.

I hope.
Judah won’t transfer. These guys all like each other and think they will be good next year. Plus he’ll get a NIL match here. Only transfer risks are members of the doghouse. Also maybe one guy who isnt getting a lot of PT, but I doubt it.

Won't transfer. He might turn Pro!!

Mintz can make it in the league eventually, but he’s not going to be a first round pick after this season, that’s my argument. His quickness and athleticism isn’t enough to make him a first round pick. He’s a good passer, but far from elite. And his decision making is questionable at best. He’s also a long ways off from having an NBA body, he’d get bullied if he made the jump. Fox was a better prospect, obviously.
I don’t see him as a first round pick, at all. At his size, he needs to have an exceptional skill, which I don’t see. He’s quick, but not super quick. Many of the shots he gets off in college he won’t be able to get off in the NBA. He’s a good bench/role guy, and could do well when matched up rotationally.

He’s also athletic and tough as nails for his frame. He has good vision, passes well, defends, and plays the right way. His work ethics are second to none, and he’s coachable and a good teammate. Did I mention his layup package is elite and that his handle is tight, and he puts a lot pressure on thee rim. What more does he need to be an nba player?
The first 3 sentences could be almost anyone, including Jim Boeheim, Mike Hopkins, Scoop Jardine, or Red Autry.

Flynn was an amazing basketball player. Judah isnt in his league.
Judah should stay. He will do much better year 2 with a different two at his side. He will be stronger and start to finish better.
I think he stays and ends up going 1st round with a guarantee contract.
Judah is not in Flynn’s league as an athlete. Not a slam on Judah. Flynn was elite.

NIL might keep Judah another year but if he keeps up his strong play I think he'll leave. While his shooting is a relative weakness, he is showing improvement in his mid-range game and has nailed a couple 3 pointers. I think when you make the break to the pros or g league, you live and breath basketball every day and get the benefit of NBA calibre coaching and skills work.

JB indicated in his last news conference that he is looking to bring in a couple new players next year, I assume he was talking about transfers but he is recruiting a high school center. I'm guessing a PG and center, maybe forward.

Agreed 100%

Agreed. NBA draft is the only way he's gone. I just hope that if he's projected second round that we can offer an enticing package to stay, similar to Tshiebwe, T. Smith, Bacot etc. last year, and then have him go first round next year.

Don’t know but I wonder if it’s the new world. My worry is we’re all focused on JB retiring but we may already be in a very different world. Even in terms of hoops. Hope I’m wrong.

Not seeing it.

Tyler Ennis, anyone? Way better PG. 25-0 start to the season back when the ACC was an elite conference. Judah's not at that level, and it's not like Ennis was a rousing success in the NBA. He played about 30 games a year for six years, so that's not bad. But he was a bench player, not even a regular.

Judah is like freshman year Jason Hart. Like Jason Hart, he may have a long NBA career, but he has to get better, show better judgment and start making some outside shots. And like Hart's freshman year, we are an NIT team.

Forget this "elite" driving ability. He falls down all the time and shoots about 40% inside the arc. He's not going anywhere. We've played 25 games and he hasn't made ten 3 pointers yet this season.

Problem is NBA drafts on potential. Is he a first rounder? Of course not, but if the right GM sees the right skills in him you never know. He would benefit by coming back despite being the most talented guard Syracuse has seen since ennis

He could easily go second half of the first round dude is nasty and athletic and isn't short.

Cross your fingers he gets bad feedback and wants to do NIL and prep for the next draft. If he returns hes probably projected 2024 lottery and lets be honest hes really good he won't suck next year and ruin his stock. We probably got a 40-60 chance he returns maybe 30-70 and it makes no sense to transfer.

Agreed. He could go second half of the first round, I don’t think he will in 23 but he most certainly could.

Ennis kept an amazing team together that made the final four the year before. He also was scared to push it and always slowed it down. Nice PG no reason to crap on him but super conservative and slow tempo guy.

Also when that 2014 team lost its momentum late Ennis went into a shell and sucked.

Mintz is more of a wildcard but honestly I don't think his supporting cast is great him and Joe don't mesh that much. Hes a good player for us and probably a better pro prospect. Perfect no but hes seriously improved and way better than he was 4 weeks ago.

He might come back too I wouldn't give up on it totally.

A talented guard finds his teammates and knows how to close out close games. I'm not seeing that with Judah yet.

But could you see it one day? That’s normally enough

He might get drafted late 1st or 2nd round (most likely 2nd) but he is not NBA ready. It's always a crap shoot being drafted that low, not getting playing time and getting lost in the g-league.

No chance. We criminally overrate our players' draft appeal year after year.

Seriously though . Why does he fall down almost every freaking drive? There are players who go their entire career not falling on a drive unless they are fouled .
