Judah Mintz to test NBA Draft waters

Remember the days when a lot of guys who were going to be 2nd round picks went back to school for another year to improve their game (and stats) so they would be a 1st round pick in the next draft? I know there are arguments pro and con for doing that. But seems fewer and fewer are willing to bet on themselves to get the much bigger pay day the next year.
And remember how many never got the chance to be drafted again.

I respectfully disagree. It matters coming off sweet 16 and final 4 seasons. Guys have exposure. But this basically proves my point. Mintz will get drafted either this year or next. If that’s that case, go now. Guys can get exposed, or hurt.
Exposure doesn't help you shoot.

Definitely helped Fab Melo, Tyler Lydon, Tyler Ennis, and MCW. What did the 6OT game do for Johnny Flynn? Helped him become a lottery pick. He wasn’t before that game. I remember. What about Spike Albrecht's freshman season where he made 3 after 3 in the run to the title game? His stock was never higher. Should have gone. Nobody can ever convince me guys should come back even if they are projected as second round picks. Fair should have left with MCW, he would have been drafted after the FF run. No question .

You said Spike Albrecht should’ve gone……gone where?! You can’t possibly be serious.

Matt Moyer should’ve gone pro after that one game(UConn?) where he scored a lot and had that tip dunk!

Spike Albrecht?

but there are also a bunch of player that left early and it hurt them - a long list.
That’s because they weren’t good enough to stick in the NBA. Not because they left college early. And that’s ok because the NBA is an exceptionally difficult league to stay in. They also have armies of scouts who know more about what is needed to excel as an NBA player.

I did. He was on mock drafts. You think I just make this stuff up lol? Perfect example where there is never a better time to go.

He was considered a draft pick after his tournament performance. Yes sir. Should have gone. Tournament performance was G-Mac like

He averaged 2 points per game. No, he was not.
In the 2012-13 ncaa tournament? You are proving my point. The guy had a GREAT tournament, and his stock only fell after. Should have gone. He made the all tournament team, and all the other guys were pros. My point is, he’s not good but the exposure clearly helped.

Ok, look up the numbers. You can have your own opinions, but not your own facts:)
The numbers are that he averaged 2 ppg in 8 mpg.

He had ONE game in the NC game where he made 4 3’s and had 17 points. Literally the only game he did anything major in. That’s why it was a story - because it was so absurd and improbable.

You’re either making things up, or you don’t remember it clearly.

Nobody was, is, or ever will draft a 5’8” point guard who’s only skill is shooting.

I wasnt talking about the regular season. All tournament team. He was a second round pick after that game Tell me when his stick was better? 3-4 pros got drafted off that team.

Mock drafts are called that, because pro teams mock the choices listed on them.

This is a blog, and I can assert opinions. You can call my posts obsurd, doesn’t matter. Guys should go pro when they have the chance, even when “fans” selfishly want them to stay.
