Judah Mintz to test NBA Draft waters

Westry & Starling happened quickly without much notice. Who is to say this doesn’t happen again as it relates to a guard & center.

Judah situation is what it is - just hope he allows us some time to backfill his spot as there are multiple individuals who could come in and be good players immediately for us.

That is what I am hoping for. Just a slight disagreement, JJ talk was out there for a while.

The issue is if Judah takes his decision to the deadline, the portal will already be closed by the time he decides so if he’s truly torn, we won’t have time to pivot if we wait for his decision (and Bradley or whatever guard we target would have to just risk the possibility of Judah coming back and instantly making it a much worse situation for them playing time wise).

Guys can commit after May 11th. They don’t have to commit by the portal timeline. At the same time guys who don’t get invited to the combine may throw their hat in the ring later this week.

Judah is at number 50 on The Athletics updated big board from this morning. Vecenie compiles his list off of his opinions but also several other scouts so it should be one of the better gauges as to where Judah currently sits. I would hope if that ends up being the feedback he gets that he would come back if we can come up with reasonable NIL but who knows.

I’m just sayin a highlight tape is the last thing to look at when evaluating a player, it’s literally pointless. I could make a highlight reel of myself and look like I’m ready for the NBA and I’m 44 years old.

Moyer was not good, yet by that video you’d think he was a top guy in the country.

I understand your point about highlight videos, but look at Aziz’s statistics at Utah Valley. He’s an absolute beast.

Btw, would not be surprised if the blue bloods like Kansas look at him if Hunter goes to UK. I think he’s that good

If Judah bolts for the NBA, I’d much rather have a 5th year grad transfer at PG, who averaged 14/6/5 and shot 40% from three than an unproven Chance or Quadir starting at PG. Trey’s got good height at 6-4

better guys available in our price range? Trey’s college production is pretty good even if the WAC level of competition is beneath the ACC.
