Plenty of guys have had freedom in our offensive system recently. Gbinije, Malachi, Lydon, Cooney, Battle, Howard, White, Gillon, Buddy... off the top of my head. It was earned or done out of necessity but mostly earned.

Richmond has immense talent and should have been given the keys for next year but it sounds from that Atlantic quote like he didn’t like being coached. He wasn’t a guy that should have had carte blanche this year.

I don’t think it’s selfish to want an opportunity to get a fair chance to display your talents. He sees Girard and Buddy able to do it here without any restrictions why shouldn’t he be allowed to when it’s clear he’s a good player. I don’t think that’s being selfish or not a team player.
