Babers has this year and maybe one more to sell his Offense to recruits, he can use the injury excuse and they weren't my guy excuse after that he is out of bullets . Wins, wins , wins is what's needed to recruit more than coaches

We need coaches who can sell right now, before the wins. It can be done. Pay for it and get it done.

Of course he is. He basically stated that the new coach has 3 years to prove his offense works and to improve recruiting. It's the equivalent of saying if you pass your road test then you get a license. Not exactly profound insight but correct nonetheless.

The offense was good with marginal recruits, baby offensive line and no run game. Its only going to get better. What do you mean wins? 10 games consistently? That's not going to happen. SU has never been a consistent 10 win team. ACC is tougher conference. He's fine if he can get 7 to 8 wins consistantly. I'm not sure who you expect SU will pay to come up to snowy Syracuse. Babers has won before and he has a unique style of offense. With Babers scheme, we can go from 4-8 to 9-3 just like that, plus its fun to watch. Hopefully the defense will come around and be reasonable but bringing in a different coach every 4 years is not going to cut it. Just repeats the cycle. We are not getting anyone better to come to Syracuse unless they pay alot of money. We have to be patient with this one fellas.

Ive said this about Ru for years they will never change unless they get a big time coach with drawing power , I would have paid Schianno 10 mill a year that's peanuts for a Big ten school due to his NFl stint players would hold him in high regard ,( the best kids want to go to the NFL ) or you have to get a 10 win year and ride momentum . Look at Adrian Peterson willing to take less to go to the Pats the rich get richer , but the poor and that's us need to exhaust every single inch to dig out of the 4-8 seasons . Moral to the story spend the $$$ to make the $$$ . In life you check every single box that you can control and then go to battle ! If I were an AD I would leave no stone in turned if you build it they will come . Its like building a race car and you cant wait to get it on the track , some will bring a Ferrari and come will bring a Camaro .Babers has charm and is liked give him everything he need's and he has a chance

I'm with you, and I think most AD's feel the same. The issue it seems lies more with BOT, at least at SU. It is very difficult to get full buy in on spending huge money on coaches at a school like SU. Add to that, the issue that mens and women's sports need to be equal in terms of spending, (which I agree with) but, certainly with football on the books it makes things very difficult and costly. Moral of this story though, and you hit the nail on the head, you must spend money to make it. No way, Rutgers, Syracuse, BC, heck even PSU cheaps out and gets itself back into prominence. OSU was spending $7million a year 5 years ago to get Urban Meyer home. They gave him cars, private plane access, vacation homes, etc. I read the contract. Now they could afford it, but they are also OSU. They get players regardless of who is coaching, but a name always makes things easier. Luke Fickell tanked for them, and they knew they needed a name, so they paid for it, and now they have been rewarded ten fold. Not sure Syracuse could ever get anyone of that caliber, and we certainly don't have $10 million to spend.
