They're the ultimate blue blood for anyone born after 1990.UCONN has a lot more to play for these days. They are on the cusp of being in the discussion for maybe being considered a potential blueblood one day.
If he's more fiery during news conferences than during games then we are in trouble.Red didn't look apathetic at the news conference.

My comments are based on his lack of response with the SU players even attempting to get back on D during several possessions. That is completely, utterly inexcusable even at the middle school level. He seemed quite active on the bench, talking to players and refs, gesturing as to what he wanted. Was he 'fiery'? I don't know. But he was certainly involved. I thought his attitude at the presser stemmed form the fact that he's as worried about the team as we are but felt they needed defending.
The back to back national champions uconn? The best team with the best coach ? That UConn? Yeah they are good

Lemoyne is not a good team. Neither are we.
That's all there is.
It's fine. Some of us have known, some of us are coming around, some are still in denial.
I love Red and hope he succeeds as much as anyone, but your responses here are getting ridiculous. Ignoring and denying what is right in front of us won't make it better, and it certainly won't stop some well-deserved criticism on a fan board.Define "lack of response". Were you close enough to hear what he said to the players?

Clearly Da Nile isn't just a river in Egypt...
It wasn't a question so much as an attempt to get me and everyone else to ignore their lying eyes. That didn't answer my question.
Question doesn’t matter, either answer doesn’t paint a good picture. My guess is it’s a combo of bad coaching and player abilityThat didn't answer my question.
When you switch 1-4, 1-5, often you get a guard covering a wing or PF or center Rolling to the hoop. The benefit is that you are already in good defensive position. The downside is mismatches. That is a disaster on the pick and roll unless you have good help or rim protector. That’s why Houston, Baylor teams were so good on D. 4 guys who could guard all positions when necessary.Interesting. I didnt watch. Is it your takeaway that means it’s not necessarily completely on the guys for not being physically able to stay in front and also relates to coaching not demanding correct positioning and help? Honest question.
Uconn played insane D and gave max effort from the beginning of the Hurley era. The exact opposite of the Red era so far.Just trying to give you something to look forward to.
That program had a plan and stuck to it. Hurley's first two years stunk (3rd year impossible to really know with the covid) and he didn't get run off.
I think with Eddie it is likely footspeed. Also, our guards do not appear as quick as Connecticuts. Frankly, I do not think any of our guys would start over any of theirs at this point.Interesting. I didnt watch. We don't have good/competent coaches that's the the main difference between us and uconnThis comparison shouldn't be about point differential or UConn being back to back champions. They have a bunch of new pieces as well, and the way SU and UConn played on defense says a lot about coaching. When you have an SU team that doesn't even try to get back on D and the coaches are just as apathetic, well... that's something that shouldn't even happen at the modified or JV level. It seems to explain a lot about the team.
Remember all of the AAC jokes about a decade ago and they'd be derelgated to club basketball?

I see the same thing SWC sees. Autry spends 90% of the game on his feet and extremely involved. No idea what you’re talking about so who has the “ lying eyes?”I love Red and hope he succeeds as much as anyone, but your responses here are getting ridiculous. Ignoring and denying what is right in front of us won't make it better, and it certainly won't stop some well-deserved criticism on a fan board.

Sorry to not be part of the denialism Vulcan mind meld and express some frustration with what's been abundantly clear over the first two games. I know you guys have a lot invested in the program, but that doesn't mean posters here can't express concerns about what they see happening on (and immediately adjacent to) the court.I see the same thing SWC sees. I didn't presume that at all. I'm sure Red wants to win more than anyone. Most coaches do, but wanting to win and doing what is necessary to put your team in a position to win are universes apart.I just don't like it when fans presume that they want to win more than the players or coaches do. This is our pastime. Basketball is their lives.
My favorite was we should hire Jay Wright away from Villanova. My favorite in the early to mid 2010s were the "we shouldn't schedule UConn because it makes them relevant" posts. People actually wrote that unironically.
