LeQuint Allen to NFL Draft

Rode up in the elevator last night with some of his family. I would not ask about next year, but told them how much I admired, and appreciated that he stood with SU through all of his drama and stayed with the school, and as a fan how much it meant to me that he was able to resolve the issue and stay at SU.
Love L. Allen!

In this NIL era idk why any player who isn’t a solid projection to go top 3 rounds wouldn’t come back.

College football is fun and pays great for top players. Easy decision if you ask me
Are you Cam McCormick?

I agree. No slight on LQA at all. They need to figure out a way to make it work for both guys (Maybe we just run more next season). I'm a huge fan of Yasin and think he could be an all-timer for Cuse.
The kid has to hang onto the ball.

How many fumbles did he have? I only recall one and it was against Miami and he had a good gain and two guys where on him and a third got both hands in and pulled. He was not carrying it loosely. Otherwise I don't recall him putting the rock on the ground. I see no ball protection issues with Willis.

Guess LQA needs to assess a few things...

Can he make more $ at SU or in the NFL?
As likely a late rounder, or UFA most likely there is more $ to be had at SU.

Can he improve his draft stock by staying?..

As the 39th rated rusher this season, clearly there is a LOT of room for improvement. Not sure how much the catching skills or the all purpose yards factor in.. Probably more like a tie breaker. Not an expert. Just another person w opinions.

Seems both decisions would be influenced by McCords future.

If McCord goes, there is more NIL bag for LQA, perhaps. Also, the O would undeniably be centered around him.

If McCord stays, you can perhaps sell to LQA dreams of a larger stage. Starting the season in the top 20, & perhaps staying in it if we pull off a .500 record against our best opponents. This could put both McCord & LQA in a higher draft spot.

Another factor could be the OL. Honestly, they weren't that great. There weren't a lot of holes. Got pushed around by many teams. So, does LQA place his future in them? If he senses improvement there, perhaps he stays.

Heck, even as the 39th rated rusher, LQA is only 400 yards from being a top 10 rusher. He could get there w 4-6 more carries a game.

Should be interesting. Feels 50 50 to me

Good post, but I have to disagree with the comment about the O-Line being not that great. It was built to protect a pocket passer and I though it did a very good job of fulfilling that mission. If McCord does not come back next season I think we will see more of a multi-faceted look to the line next season with more of an emphasis on the running game and with the expectation that a nimble QB will not need as much protection.

I’m pretty sure he had one earlier in the season as well. Still, that would only make two. It’s not anything that I would be worried about.

He does have ball security issues.

Let's hope the OL can support a running game next season bc I think we are going to need about 100 more rushing yards a game next season.
