I was sure he had one early in the season. Maybe he didn’t lose it.exactly, 1 fumble, on a great strip by the way, and people think he has ball security issues lol.

It sure beats attendance and uniform threads. In fairness, these things are a lot more fun to argue about than the arguments we’ve been having for 2 decades lol.
And yes, it’s still a ridiculous thing to worry about.

I thought so too. That’s why I had to go back and look up his stats.I was sure he had one early in the season. Maybe he didn’t lose it.
I was sure it was 2, in limited time, which is the key.How many fumbles did he have? I only recall one and it was against Miami and he had a good gain and two guys where on him and a third got both hands in and pulled. He was not carrying it loosely. Otherwise I don't recall him putting the rock on the ground. I see no ball protection issues with Willis.
I think Gill got stripped after a long catch and Willis fumbled against Miami.I was sure it was 2, in limited time, which is the key.
Allen can catch passes with the best running backs and can pick up the blitz in pass coverage.I wish him well and am grateful for his contributions to Syracuse. He seems like a workhorse and a great person.
I could be completely off base but I don't see Lequint as a productive NFL running back.

I see a five year NFL third down back when I squint real hard.
Lesquint?
Well the OOC matchups don’t matter. We just need to excel in conference play. Not to mention at ND, at SMU, neutral(ha ha) Tennessee. I mean you don’t know what will happen year to year(see FSU) but when you have four 2024 playoff teams on your 2025 schedule and none are at home, you have your hands full. And that doesn’t even account for Miami.
Well, there are a lot of people that want to think we were close this year. Teams that are close to the playoff don't worry about scheduling. We as a fanbase either need to be cool with a tough schedule or we need to cool our jets about us and the conference getting no respect.Spoiler alert: we're not a playoff contender. Maybe we will become one (would love it), but we're certainly not there yet. We get 7 wins next year, I'd be happy with that and then hope to get back to 9-10 wins in 2026.

This is exactly it. I was thinking I would be happy with 6-6. I know that flies in the face with what we all want but we don't have the players on both sides of the ball that you need, with that schedule, to do really well. Hopefully, in a few years we will. This year we had what is a rare qb for us. Just like we did with Dungey. And weapons on offense. We will still have some of them but if we don't have McCord, with our defense, it is going to be a trying year.Spoiler alert: we're not a playoff contender. The OOC matchups matter if we don't want to cry about the SEC getting all the attention while the ACC gets crapped on.Well the OOC matchups don’t matter. We just need to excel in conference play.
If we get 95% of our offense back with the waiver situation and Lequint not leaving, then I think we’re capable of out scoring any conference team on our schedule.
We could definetly use the leadership and depth to rotateWillis and Allen.I think it would be smart for Lequint to return. He is a strong/fast and one of the best receiving backs. Showing he’s able to break runs and have an improved open field vision would help his stock. Him returning will be one of the positives about NIL
Correct and the amount of hype this team is going to get going into that week 1 game against Tennessee is going to great for the program. There are some serious marquee matchups. Sure I’m scared lol but if they get McCord back watch outThis over and over
If we’re truly a very good team, we don’t care about the schedule.
We take a tough schedule like next season and use to our advantage. It’s an opportunity to show we are legit.
I actually like that our schedule is so tough next season.
There's an easy way to fix that - get to the playoffs and win. Regular season OOC doesn't affect that. The OOC matchups matter if we don't want to cry about the SEC getting all the attention while the ACC gets crapped on.
Regular season OOC helps influence how many teams from a conference make it in the playoff. I would guess that teams that win big games out of conference during the season are also more likely to win a playoff game. There's an easy way to fix that - get to the playoffs and win. Next year we find out how good Fran Brown and his coaching staff is not just at recruiting, but at scouting and development. This is exactly it. I was thinking I would be happy with 6-6. It'll be a good test for the program. It may not tell us a ton about how good Fran Brown is since it's only his second year. It takes time to resurrect a dormant program, and, since Fran wants to primarily build his team through high school recruiting, most of his guys will still be pretty young next year.Next year we find out how good Fran Brown and his coaching staff is not just at recruiting, but at scouting and development.
Our current returning team doesn't seem to be up the task, with such a brutal schedule. But if the guys Fran brought in were better than we think and they also developed nicely...
I would actually love another January like last year's December: tons of portals out and new transfers in, maybe even a couple new recruits.
Yep, and I haven't said it on this board before (cause no one wants to hear it) but I'm really concerned a similar drop off will occur post McCord. While it certainly looks like Fran is doing a better job building our program with a culture that will lead to a lot of successful seasons, I still wonder what our offense is going to look like without Kyle. As we very well know, things didn't look good without Eric. He masked a lot of our deficiencies. This is exactly it. I was thinking I would be happy with 6-6.
