Wrong! We have sucked for 15 years. We just lost our top choice to UCF?????? It's time to get on the ledge and lean.

Disagree. If the squabble was over contract structure we could have had him and drew a line instead. That's not losing our top choice, that's deciding what's best for the program is not your top choice under his terms. Very different.

I don't want any Jesus or gumbo references during press conferences.

Well, then we really lucked out with Frost picking UCF. He's one of those FCA guys. Don't think I could take all the Jesus talk either. This is the only reason to pick a Northeast coach because at least most of them don't wear their faith on their sleeves.

I am not making myself clear. I don't care that we lost out on Frost. Two weeks ago, I didn't know who he was. I am upset because it appears we wanted him and he chose UCF over us. That bothers me.

With all due respect, how can you say that intelligently? Do you know the facts/details of the two alleged offers and what may have transpired during the negotiations? Was it apples to apples and Frost chose UCF? If that indeed was the case, I would then agree that it would seemingly be cause for concern. Maybe, as eluded here somewhere, Frost was just too demanding in his demands, and, Coyle said thanks...but no thanks?

Doesn't change what I said. Obviously, UCF met whatever demands he had.

I know you are not being rational now, but if the reason why he went elsewhere was because we were not willing to allow him to use this program as a 1-2 year stepping stone, then that was the right decision. We need someone who will at least be in place 3-4 years to get things running smoothly and in a place to hand off to the next guy. That doesn't happen when "The" guy leaves after 1 year and we're right back where we started from all over again.

Rational? You have zero proof that Frost demanded a out after a year or two. Zero. And as I said, I don't care about Frost. I care about us not getting the guy we wanted. Again.

It's hard to find a team that will be willing to hire someone after just one year (assuming this is a first-time HC). If so, it means he really elevated the program. I don't think one year is doable.

Baldwin is my remaining hope. Every other offensive guy that seems to have any contact with us seems to be spoken for. And as we know, we get stuck with whoever is left after the music stops.

What's your proof? I swear, some people just like to freak out.

Of course you are right. there is no reason to "freak out" when it comes to Syracuse football. Everything is just fine. Relax and be patient. Know that the administration will do everything in it's power to create a winning team.

Who are the 7 people who voted for Chris Ash? Ash and 6 family member lurkers?

I would rehire Scott Shafer before hiring Chris Ash.

Now that would be unprecedented...Fire a guy and then take him back.
Note: Les Miles approves this post

I can see convincing one's self that he is an okay choice, but how can he be anyone's top choice? Are people just Coyle devotees?

Ive got a gun and a shovel, coyle wont be missed.

and milly, i realize youve been watching the bills dig holes into the carpet and hide for the last 20 years, but the Giants offense has been explosive since game 7 of 1999, when Kerry Collins took over.

my Kingdom for the passing success that the Giants offense has had since then...

of course the 1 year when we had 2 guys run for 1000 yards and Eli with his usual 3k +, yeah that was cool too.
