Lingering Strife?

I can't think a more ill timed post. We have a coach. One who closed the last recruiting strong and is off to a great start with this one. I like Addazio but that ship has sailed.
Totally agree on the "ship has sailed" thoughts. I really found the post odd, but wouldn't have made a thread about it if it wasn't picked up on by about 20 other SU football alums.

Okay, just went to his Facebook page, and granted I'm not that familiar with how Facebook works, but I can't find anything resembling the OP's description. Am I missing it?

Oh, and the guy works at SU? Or am I reading that wrong?
Doesn't work at SU. Just played there in the mid to late 90's

and one who wasn't even that good. Give me a break with this (not to you obviously). Bad timing. If we go 3-9 again then different. Dudes need to give the guy a fair shot. ridic

Was just perusing Shafer's Wiki page. This guy has been part of successful teams no matter where he's coached or played, notwithstanding the RichRod Michigan team. I firmly believe last year was an aberration. His recruiting has been good and is getting better. I'm still in his camp.

Why don't you just copy-and-paste his update so people can judge the content without filter or interpretation?

I know that takes all the fun out of social media.

:)

It's reasonable for Konrad to be carrying Addazio's water since he's, by any metric, a better coach than Scott Shafer...so far. I just don't see why he would be doing this independent of Addazio's feelings towards BC. BC is a better job right now, pays better and it's in a better part of the world. The first two could change ultimately and maybe Addazio isn't a fan of Brad Bates right now.

Seems odd for sure.

BC will NEVER be a focus in Boston. As a person who lived there for 5 years, the interest level in BC sports is currently comparable to the interest level that women's basketball team garners in Syracuse. We have tradition. We have better facilities. Boston real estate is currently in a bubble. And, Syracuse isn't all that bad.

I'm not sure that's the point, though. If Addazzio does well enough at BC he'll be offered a job that's better than both BC and SU. Relatively speaking they are, at current time, similar rungs on the coaching ladder. It sucks to admit that, but it's true.

new neighbor is a bahstoner- tried to talk college hoops with him- no idea about it- same with college football
bring up da pats or sox and he can talk your ear off

I don't want Addazio anywhere near Syracuse. I've heard some horror stories about how his staff has treated recruits recently. I don't want that crap anywhere near the Orange.

I agree 100% that BC isn't a focus in Boston. It doesn't make it a worse place to live than Syracuse. However, if i'm a coach with a family i'd want to set up camp in the greater Boston area (especially Chestnut Hill). Syracuse isn't bad but it isn't Boston.

Bingo.

The only reason why I can see this being dredged up now is since we will soon be hiring a new AD.

i understand it might be a lateral move, but people make lateral moves all the time.

3-9
new AD
former players touting 'their guy'.

connect the dots kids.

its fun, simple and often leads to a pretty picture.

when SS goes, i hope we do a whole lot better than addazio...whom i wanted instead of marrone.

From an actual broadcast circa 1995.

Coach Mac (after a tackle was made): "Danish, that's Danish's kid right?"

Dave Cohen: "Yes, I believe that's right Coach"

Coach Mac: "Ok then, I think I'll have a Danish!"

Yeah... 20 years ago.

Could have been worse - his last name could have been Doughnut.

1-1 head to head, so not any metric
-- also had better recruiting class last season according to -cout.

I don't know, I am starting to think it is a weird sort of tip of the cap to Shafer. I think maybe that he wrote a letter, maybe before or maybe after Marrone to the AD. I think maybe he posted that yesterday in light of the recruiting win, as a way of eating crow. Who knows. I think most of the likes were a tip of the cap to Addazio as well as a fond remembrance of the shared success and brotherhood.

I appreciate former players' input, but there's a time and a place. If we go 0-12 next year, fire away... but don't go saying that crap publically after we landed arguably the best HS recruit in the last 15-20 years for Syracuse.

We beat out the best schools in the land for RW and the guy is roasting Shafer over the recruiting fire? Maybe he should've been given the Zeke Johnson diagnosis back in the day...

There is no way shafer does not allow any former player to come back to the program for any reason. That is not in his DNA. I mean if people are negative and d!ckheads on social media like Jeff Danish, whoever the He&& that is then why would he want them around.

Jeff Danish. Is he the reason Pasqualoni's hair turned gray? Same Jeff Danish who complained about a hazing incident while a rookie in New Orleans Saints camp Aug of 1998?
