The president of Louisville is named "Ramses". You can't make this stuff up!

Okay, agreed. BUT. I was all high and mighty about Paterno and Sandusky and then the Bernie Fine garbage hit the fan. Then I knew what it felt like to be a Penn State fan. In that line of thinking, you know there are Louisville fans who would group us with Penn State being all high and mighty and holier than thou. Now they get to experience the yucky feeling that doesn't come off even if you shower. There's a good chance Coach Pitino gets fired over this based on the Louisville president's comments. Louisville fans have to be sick to their stomachs. I would make a comment but I don't want any bad karma.

There's no chance that the omission of Pitino's name in the statement of support is an oversight. It's a mess here. Pitino said he's not resigning, and he shouldn't, at least not until the whole truth is known, then let's reassess. I had not heard one peep about all of this around here before the allegations came out. Whether true or not or partially, the lady is in for the $$ no doubt! Pres. Ramsey supported AD Jurich but didn't mention Pitino. It is not known if this was on purpose or an oversight. I have met Ramsey. Not sure what to think. I do like UofL sports being a long time resident (2nd to SU of course), but this is nuts! I'm sure crap goes on at many other schools, but that doesn't excuse the behavior if true. Ugh. First Cuse, now this (at least it wasn't a s e x scandal at SU). Why not happen to teams I don't like, like UK or some other snooty schools.

This lady just wants money. Someone at Louisville was dumb enough to cut her off. UK is watching this closely. UK boosters appear willing to cut the check and tie off a relationship in a nice green bow.And STILL... Kentucky walks proudly and without a single negative light on them. THIS is why i hate the NCAA. Kentucky's shennanigans would put Louisville's strippers to shame.
LV is a monastery compared to UK.And STILL... Kentucky walks proudly and without a single negative light on them. THIS is why i hate the NCAA. Kentucky's shennanigans would put Louisville's strippers to shame.
I'm biased, of course. But I don't see how paying kids to ref games at the Y or adding citations to a kid's paper are in the same league as a (another) sex scandal at LV.There's no chance that the omission of Pitino's name in the statement of support is an oversight.
The written statement undoubtedly was vetted by university lawyers.
Even if Pitino knew nothing about the strippers (which is hard to believe) he's still facing likely ouster.
Calhoun...Boeheim...Pitino.
Three Hall of Fame coaches enveloped by scandal at the end of their tenures.
That's college basketball.
And somehow I'm still a fan.
Just a hunch, but I doubt he knew about this. He's been through his own personal scandal. He's seen what's happened to other programs (for much more minor infractions, comparatively). This is just too over the top to have his blessing, or even his tacit approval.Pitino speaks:

He's got his work cut out for him to escape this one.
I suspect even the Houdini of coaches...Cal himself...couldn't wriggle out of this.
I agree completely on Pitino. Total speculation on my part, but I do think some other assistants could be brought in on this at least for the painful parts of the investigation, for two reasons. First, this staff member was not directly hands-on in recruiting, so keeping track of who's who would have involve conversations and guidance with other coaches. Those same coaches who are the primary contact with a recruit would have a role in how they were spending their visits. Second, people in that role (Grad Assistant/Director of Ops) don't typically make a ton of money where they can throw $300-$400 around loosely like that (although you never know someone's situation, and I guess he did play overseas). Unless he completely falls on this 100% as his own, this could get messy for others.Just a hunch, but I doubt he knew about this. He's been through his own personal scandal. That said, it's his program. And his assistant(s). So I think he'll be held responsible, but after listening to that interview, my gut is he didn't know about it.
Agree. I'm sure the staff knew who, when, what and where with the recruits. And I doubt GA's and assistants were diming whores with their own coin. So more to come, as you predict.I agree completely on Pitino. yeah, I think the program might be in a bit of trouble.
