Teams like the Red Sox who own large stakes in their regional television networks don't include the revenues from the networks in their team financial statements.
I think the service time questions were already negotiated.I honestly don't care at this point, less than an 81 game season and it's a fluke. Half of MLB doesn't play to win anyway.
Another question - what does no season do to service time, etc. Is the meter still on for guys to get one year closer to free agency, or did the Cubs just get another year or Kris Bryant? And the Phils stuck with a year older Bryce Harper 12 years from now?
But then again, everything is always open for negotiation depending on how much of a jerk either party wants to be.The biggest issue in the negotiations was service time, and the two sides agreed that if there’s a season of any length, players would receive credit for a full year as if it was a regular 162-game season. And if the season is canceled, players will receive the same service time they accrued in 2019.
MLBPA took the deal in March which lowered their salaries during the pandemic shutdown in exchange for service time counting for every player in the big Leagues.I honestly don't care at this point, less than an 81 game season and it's a fluke. Half of MLB doesn't play to win anyway.

Scumbag organization can “charge itself” whatever it wants in broadcasting rights via NESN and not share that revenue.Teams like the Red Sox who own large stakes in their regional television networks don't include the revenues from the networks in their team financial statements.

So theoretically Mookie Betts would be a FA without playing for the Dodgers if this season is called off.
Betts and other free agents picked a bad time to be free agents.MLBPA took the deal in March which lowered their salaries during the pandemic shutdown in exchange for service time counting for every player in the big Leagues.

Yup. Players think they have the backing of the public and the owners just don’t care. Both sides need to just cancel the season and stop playing this out in the media. They’re doing more damage this way but are too stubborn to realize it.
Owners are using this pandemic to try and break the Union. They are scum.Yup. Players think they have the backing of the public and the owners just don’t care.
because if he sets the season at 50-60 games like they expect the players want to strike.,Read this thread of tweets from Trevor Bauer.
He nailed it.
Manfred makes Goodell look good which is amazing.
This isn’t true. The players know Manfred can’t set a 50 game schedule now because their are too many days left on the season calender.because if he sets the season at 50-60 games like they expect the players want to strike.,
Why would you wait till July 1st to camp?if they said 50 today they wouldnt start camp unitl july 1 and play until aug 1 and 50 days is about all they would get in by sept 27 which is when they wanted to end the season.
Yes.These billionaires should never get another public dollar again.
