Especially true with Apple. They don't typically have partial patches or hotfixes for their apps like Android does, and it's usually a complete redistribution of the app disguised as an update. Sometimes it's best to just reinstall the entire app to "clean it up."Unfortunately for the ‘convenience’ of Apps, they are often more finicky than the sites, regardless of the quality I have found.
Every time I have had a mysterious issue with an app, deleting and reinstalling the app takes care of the issue 99% of the time (this presupposes you already did the OS update and hard restart of device)

It's why I'm not a huge fan of Apple. Their phones are sleek and well made, and the built-in cameras are second to none. But their app system is still a bit archaic. Anybody that has ever had to use iTunes on their computer to sync knows what I mean. That program is a nightmare, and every "update" was just a messy reinstall that broke half the time.
