Mobile Tickets

Unfortunately for the ‘convenience’ of Apps, they are often more finicky than the sites, regardless of the quality I have found.

Every time I have had a mysterious issue with an app, deleting and reinstalling the app takes care of the issue 99% of the time (this presupposes you already did the OS update and hard restart of device)

Just a PSA
Especially true with Apple. They don't typically have partial patches or hotfixes for their apps like Android does, and it's usually a complete redistribution of the app disguised as an update. Sometimes it's best to just reinstall the entire app to "clean it up."

It's why I'm not a huge fan of Apple. Their phones are sleek and well made, and the built-in cameras are second to none. But their app system is still a bit archaic. Anybody that has ever had to use iTunes on their computer to sync knows what I mean. That program is a nightmare, and every "update" was just a messy reinstall that broke half the time.

Never had a problem with an app. Use them for everything. Flights, AirBnb, Uber, hotel reservations, etc. I usually find the app is better to use. So I guess it depends on what we all use.

I almost never use websites, always apps whenever available (which is probably 90% of the time these days)

Just trying to share my experience. I don’t think I can think of a single app (I use dozens, probably close to 100) that has been perfect from day 1 but some combination of resetting app, resetting phone, updating OS, updating app, checking new quirky setting from an update or finally deleting and reinstalling an app has cured my ills 100% of the time.

I also do some programming for work and even there sometimes a reinstall of the platform is the only thing that works out kinks (usually created by some background update/changes that weren’t obvious)

Just an offshoot from people getting backed up between getting bags checked and many problems with people not being able to bring up a connection to load their tickets turned getting into the James Taylor concert last night, get ready for very long lines for the first football game.

These problems would probably be eliminated if people actually took the advice of adding their tickets to their mobile wallet. Sort of common sense IMO.

1. The "bag check" area at the Amp is nowhere near the actual gate where they scan tickets. They're maybe 100 yds apart.

2. I attended the DMB show at the Amp last week. It took 2 minutes to get through security. Of course, we went an hour before the show started and not 10 minutes before.

Can't blame the Amp if people don't have their stuff in authorized clear bags or have their lawn chairs pulled out of the carrying cases.

its a good thing the university is asking people to download to there apple or google pay wallet before leaving to the game since it takes maybe 5 mins to do as long as you use google chrome and not the app

Bingo that is exactly the problem with mobile tickets. Clearly systems are not in place to handle the change to the mobile platform if the university and just about every other venue recommends fans download this tickets to the apple wallet before leaving home as they are admitting that they system simply cant handle all the requests to the networks. Pretty hard to understand why they roll out a new ticketing system that they know is flawed at best.

I would recommend everyone go to their MyCuse accounts and see if your mobile tickets can be added to your Apple Wallet or Google Pay.

I have been corresponding with the box office over the past two days because my mobile tickets do NOT have the link on them allowing me to “Add To Apple Wallet.”

I want my tickets in my Apple Wallet since I do NOT want to rely on an internet connection when entering the dome.
Just mail the #,£¥€>} tickets we pay enough for them. I have been trying to print my Ohio tickets for a couple hours.

I agree. My neighbor who is 84 years old got so fed up that he called the box office and said he could not use the mobile tickets. Much to his surprise he received paper tickets on Saturday.

With regards to my problem of not being able to download my tickets to my Apple Wallet I was finally able to solve the problem on my own. The only way I could add the tickets to my Apple Wallet was if I opened My Cuse account with Google Chrome. I spoke to the box office and asked them to send an email to season ticket holders stating you must use Google Chrome but I have not seen any updates.

Glad to hear that you successfully added your mobile tickets. I am curious as to whether the box office will do this or not as it simply isn't true for everybody that you must use Google Chrome. I can access my mobile tickets on my iPhone, and add them to my Wallet, using the Syracuse App or by using Safari; Chrome isn't even loaded on my phone.

It is crazy. I worked with the box office for a week or so and then decided to download the Google Chrome app on my cell iPhone. After logging in to MyCuse account thru the Google Chrome app the Add To Apple Wallet symbol appeared on my tickets.

I honestly believe it is going to be a disaster on September 11th for the older fans who are not tech savvy.

it not just older fans.. its loads of fans who will be waiting til the last minute, dont read the emails, buy tickets late. as some have said they have been doing mobile for 2-3 yrs and the buy in has been so low it hasnt been an issue as the adopters figured it out and everyone else just went on with the way they wanted tickets to work.

in every email I’ve seen about tickets it has said to call them if you have a problem. Glad to see someone listened. And I’ve had no problems and don’t use chrome.

Big Bang Theory Wow GIF by INTO ACTION

Between the tickets and showing my vaccination status, I told my group that we might as well go into the Dome 45 Mins before kick because if you wait too long you will miss a lot of the 1st quarter IMO.

Probably a good idea but at least there will be different scenery to look at with the renovations.

imagine if they ever used the big screen tvs to show other games during the dead time.. if you could watch some in that pre-game how many people might go in early and spend money?

Well, usually we are the nooner because 87% of the time we are no good so we get the early start am probably not many LOL

Sounds like the university is taking care of season ticket holders who are having issues with mobile tickets. I just heard from the couple that sits next to me (75 years old). They will be receiving paper tickets after they explained their situation to the dome box office.

If I might complain for a moment, the cuse.com site is kind of a mess. They need some type of single sign on. You have a different login spot for mycuse vs. tickets mycuse account vs. orange all access.

I decided to try to do it myself by making everything the same password. But good luck finding a change password spot. I tried forgot password, but that link takes me somewhere else.

This stuff should be basic, especially as we move into mobile ticketing (which I fully support and use my apple wallet for everything). I feel like we're making it harder. And I would say I generally know what I'm doing.

end rant.

‘yep, yep, and yep again. Sidearm, not good. The integration sucks, the look and feel between the website and iOS app are completely different. Functionality is spotty.

This is just another example why pushing mobile tickets down everyones throat is such a bad idea in general. Why go to a platform that even the venue knows is flawed at best. They do not have faith in fans being able to bring up their tickets as you are entering the event as evident by them saying pull up your tickets at home to avoid problems, as they know the problems will be there. Just like the sold out Luke Combs concert last week at CMAC where countless fans could not gain access to their tickets due to a lack of internet. It was so bad that the box office could not help them as they could not connect either.
Why would anyone risk connecting just in time?
