Wolves getting an odd amount of respect.

Pretty much everyone has them pegged as a top 4 or 5 seed in the West this year. That plus the fact that they have Towns and Butler will attract a lot of viewers.

I'm personally much lower on them, but we'll see.

Woj: LeBron's future impacts Cavaliers' Kyrie Irving trade scenarios

New article from Woj. Quick summary:

The Cavaliers are assuming that LeBron will leave in the offseason, and therefore, they're prioritizing the acquisition of young prospects in any Kyrie trade. This basically crosses the Spurs off the list of potential suitors because Cleveland has no interest in Aldridge, Danny Green, etc.

The Cavs are targeting Kristaps Porzingis, Jayson Tatum, Josh Jackson, or Jamal Murray in trade talks.

The Knicks would attach Joakim Noah's contract to Porzingis. For now, the Knicks have zero interest even in that scenario, but teams around the league believe they may eventually cave.

Danny Ainge is apparently hesitant to make a strong offer, but we'll see if he ends up stepping up to the plate or not. I still doubt Cleveland accepts an offer from them unless it's an absolute slam dunk just due to the fact that Boston is clearly their biggest competition in the East.

The Bucks have expressed interest in Kyrie, but Milwaukee has no young star to offer Cleveland, so they're basically out.

I get they've had a big off-season, just surprised to see that much confidence in them re: TV.

Eminem - Stan parody about Lebron and Kyrie. I laughed.

Very, very well-done! Two of my favorites: Slim Shady and LBJ.

If Kyrie can bear another season wih LeBron playing for the title, it's looking more and more like he may be getting that team he wants in another year: the Cavs. He can be the alpha dogg on a team playing each year for the 8 seed, if that.

Is it that much? They have 25 total; only one on ABC, which are the real big ones. They're just 2 ahead of Philly.

The real standout to me is the Lakers, but obviously I get it.

One crazy thing is there are 36 ABC appearances, and how concentrated it is. Warriors, Houston, and OKC with 6 each, Cle 5, Boston and the Spurs 4 each. That's 31 of the 36 appearances in those 6 teams.

How many games is Embiid gonna play? The answer to that probably answers your question.

I think as an NBA fan Philly is for sure going to be interesting; they've been tanking for so long, they have accumulated a lot of guys with a pedigree, can they put it together and actually at least be a competent team? So I'm for sure interested in them this year; but that's also not the same question as will they be watchable?

Agreed, their level of success depends on how many games Embiid plays. Embiid is legitimately good.

But beyond that they've got the last two #1 overall picks stepping onto the court for the first time. Definitely an intriguing team.

Interesting, yes, it all depends on health with Embid and Simmons, but I could see them being a 500 team.

In the East, they have a shot. I'd guess they end up in the low 30's though.

It all depends on their health, but the east is so bad, I wouldn't be shocked if they ended up with 40, 41, 42 wins.

One point on Embiid I've seen people raise that I hadn't thought about; I think at least part of the reason he is so dominant when he does play is because he knows he's on a minutes limit and he doesn't play nearly as much as anyone else, so he is in effect fresher when he does play. Don't get me wrong, I think he's definitely a legit difference maker when he's on the court, but I would assume he won't be the complete monster he was when he was playing 24 MPG and no back to backs

Philly is a big market and has young pieces they make sense for TV.
Cleveland/Boston/Washington all make sense.
TV won't want Toronto as they are Canadian.
Milwaukee is getting more TV games.
The Knicks are getting TV games because of their brand and market.

Atlanta/Chicago/Brooklyn all suck.

Charlotte/Miami/Indiana/Detroit/Orlando do nothing .

They got it right.

The Celtics signed Andrew White to a 2 way contract.

So he will get some money without having to play overseas next year.

Didn't see this before making the thread i just posted hah

Boston is trying to find a third team to help the trade. Rumor is New Orleans is that team.

Celtics will give Pelicans draft picks to help the salaries match up without Boston giving up more than 3 players to Cleveland.

Lol Kyrie waived his trade kicker.

It's looking like Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zisic and Brooklyn pick and Memphis pick for Kyrie.

This would be a steal for Danny.*

*Unless the Nets suck and the Cavs get Marvin Bagley in the draft with that pick.

Man, that being the case, Bradley would have fit really nicely on that team.

Bradley was a tough loss but he was going to get paid and the Celtics didn't want to pay him the max.

Jaylen Brown is going to get minutes at the 2 and I really like his game.

If all it costs is IT/Crowder/Zizic and draft picks for Kyrie then Danny wins this trade.

Danny will have turned a 6th man Isaiah Thomas for the 29th pick in 2016 draft into a franchise player.

Amazing this is happening between the two teams that were in the Eastern finals.

I'm telling you, Cavs should try to offload LeBron.
