Deal is done

Ainge kept Brown, Tatum and still has the Lakers/Kings pick.

Holy sheet balls Ainge STOLE Kyrie.
Great trade. He's exactly the kind of player you give up that Nets pick for. Tremendous move by Ainge.

I'm not a celts or cavs fan but I think the cavs won that deal.

You realize Isaiah Thomas has a bum hip.
He has rehabbed it but it's not known if he will even be cleared to start the year.

Jae Crowder is a nice player but is more valuable because of his contract.
Zizic is a rookie who nobody knows how good he is.

The Nets pick sucks to lose but it's worth giving up for a stud. I think the Nets will be bottom 5 next year.

Boston turned a Marcus Thornton, 29th pick in the 2016 draft, Rajon Rondo, and the Nets pick into a top 15 player in the league.

They won this trade.

Cleveland got value back but you have to give up something to get something.

I think both teams did well. Celtics get an all star in his prime , clear up playing time on the wing by trading Crowder, and avoid the Thomas FA situation. Cavs get enough back to stay strong for this year and then they'll get a great draft pick to start their rebuilding process after LeBron leaves. Unless...Brooklyn overachieves and the pick isn't that great.

And I'm glad the Celtics didn't give up that pick for Paul George. Very possible he would've stayed there after a year of contending. Keeps him available for the Lakers next year.

I'm not so sure how "great" Irving will be without James. I also think Crowder is very good and could get better. The Nets pick could be huge especially if they get Porter or Bagley.

The only gamble is how bad the nets are next year. That pick it's tough to lose but I'd rather give up the pick with the gamble and then give up Tatum or Brown.

Plus Ainge kept Smart, Rozier, and the Lakers/Kings pick.

Celtics are going to get a lottery pick out of the Lakers next year or the Kings in 2019.

This deal is a win for Boston. Cleveland has the lottery ticket of the Nets though. Thomas is good offensively but the worst defender in the league.

Ultimately Kyrie is going to give Boston the same thing Thomas gave them, more or less. But he's more reliable to keep doing it consistently going forward.

ECF should be an awful lot of fun.

Lmao we kept the other pick, tatum and brown??

WE ARE LAUGHING!!!
Exactly how I feel.

They had to give up something they gave up the Nets pick and don't have to deal with Isaiah's FA.

How are Vegas odds unchanged? Kyrie blows away IT. This really strengthened Bos and weakened Cle.

I don't agree. Right now, they're basically the same caliber. Kyrie has the better contract situation and is more likely to maintain it. He was always clearly better than Thomas...until the last year or two.

I think Boston is deeper and obviously in a great position going forward. I think for this coming season, Cleveland will still be tough to beat.

I'm admittedly not an IT fan. I think post-season wise, this is huge.

One word LeBron.
If Isaiah would be out for a while with the Hip I think Boston could beat them.
Right now LeBron is the difference but he is gone after next year thanks to Gilbert/Trump.

Yeah, and while Boston didn't need Crowder anymore and really needed to get him out of Brown and Tatum's way...he would seem to be a great pickup for Cleveland for this year.

I don't think other people are understanding just how "asset-wealthy" we are right now. The Cavs could've gotten so much more and this just confirms that Ainge big boys other owners.

this is a great deal for the Celtics and a decent deal for the Cavs. Kyrie is a much better player than IT. IT kills his team on the defensive side of the floor. Crowder is a dime a dozen player. the Nets pick could be very good. Or maybe not.

Kyrie was an absolute Celtic killer.

Say what you will but I think the Celtics are the East favorite now.

Exactly Ainge had to take stash players in the first round last year because he had so many picks and couldn't take all the guaranteed contracts.

Ainge had to cash in eventually and Anthony Davis was a pipe dream.

I wanted Kyrie. I thought next year was the chance.
