Why are you so fixated on him being lost for the season?

If he's more seriously injured than Cleveland was lead to believe, he's less valuable, and they should get more coming back.

My guess is they'll come to some resolution here, and i know you're coming at this from a Boston POV, but Cleveland has a point here.
If Isaiah didn't fail the physical the deal should be a go.

If he failed the physical then cancel the trade.

The regular season is pointless. If Isaiah isn't out for the year he will help Cleveland win the East. They could be the 8 seed they are winning the East. Thus the only concern should be if IT can't play. If is just going to be out some time then this all about extortion.

I don't think it's really fair that because everyone expects Cleveland to win the east, the regular season essentially can be considered meaningless.

The bolded part, I kinda agree with though. Not sure extortion is the best word, but I take your point.

I'm guessing Cleveland's doctors see more risk with the situation than Boston's did. With that said, I'm guessing besides asking for more from Boston, they are now giving all teams a second shot at Kyrie, knowing Cleveland will actually pull the trigger on the right deal.

At most I give Cleveland a late first
Round pick. Just to end this mess.

No more than that and honestly I wouldn't even give that first round pick.

Isaiah Thomas on health: 'I am not damaged'

So Bush league how Cleveland's GM is behaving.

They are determined to get another first round pick.
Danny offer a 2nd rounder or tell them to cancel it.

Well if the player says he's fine, then he's fine, right?

Fwiw, Zach lowe was reporting the Cleveland doctors think it's possible isaiah could miss most of the regular season depending on how things go.

Lowe had a good article today, btw. Missed his writing.

Then they should have vetoed the trade immediately this BS slow drip drip is a joke.
Why they haven't failed the physical is a joke if this is true.

As I said before, that's fair. But I'm not taking IT's word on his health as being worth a thing.

Fwiw, Lowe also reported the Bucks haven't offered a first round pick. Yet.

Shouldn't this have to be resolved, one way or another, pretty soon?

Not necessarily, but I'm guessing it will be done soon. I still expect Cleveland to take Boston's offer, maybe an additional 2nd round pick or something, but I really don't see why Ainge should add more.

If Isaiah's hip is a huge issue (and we don't really know for sure that it is), then Cleveland can either take the potential future star (Brooklyn pick) or they can take the short-term title run while almost certainly not having a long-term star (Milwaukee offer).

Adding a pick shouldn't make all that much of a difference in my opinion, if it's the long-term assets that Cleveland wants, Boston is already offering far more of that than Milwaukee.

Yeah I get the sense that while Cleveland is legit worried about the state of Isaiah's hip, they're also using this is leverage to squeeze something else out of Boston. I think at the end of the day, they'll value that Brooklyn pick too highly to risk the deal.

They're in quite the spot right now, because as I understand, Boston can't back out of the deal now, right? Cleveland holds all the cards. They can say we'll take the deal, or we're backing out if you add more, but Boston can't say the deal is off the table in X days, take it or leave it. (Since it was already technically agreed to)

I think deadline is 10am Thursday -- tomorrow.

The deal's going down -- unless the Cavs somehow found a better deal in the meantime, which I doubt.

Cavs could deep-six the deal, take Kyrie back to start the season, then take some more time shopping him and jettison him by around Christmas for the right price.

Cavs want the high first-round pick, though, and Crowder's more important to them in the playoffs -- particularly against Golden State -- than Isaiah is.

Kyrie is going to Milwaukee.
Ainge won't give anything more and the Bucks just upped their offer.

Question is will Kyrie waive his trade kicker.

Upped their offer how exactly?

Take this for what it is worth but I heard the Bucks offer now includes Thon Maker and Delly and the Cavs would send Kyrie and Shumpert.

Sigh. Figured Shumpert would be coming back, which is fine, but man, sending Thon on top of the other two guys is pretty steep. Guess we'll see what happens.

Edit: Are you hearing that our 1st rounder is included too?

Milwaukee's offer does not include a first round pick. The one I just posted that I heard.

That may be the last minute negotiation.

Well I suppose that's good at least haha.

I can't help but wonder if perhaps this offer isn't really on the table but Cleveland is telling Boston that it is to try to get more out of them. But I suppose we'll never really know for sure unless the Bucks trade actually happens. I still suspect that Boston ends up with Kyrie when it's all said and done but I guess I'll have to wait and see now. Honestly not sure if I do or don't want the potential Bucks deal to happen.

Cleveland's GM comes off bad in this deal.

It's obvious Isaiah didn't flunk that physical. If he did they void the deal.

They tried to strong arm the Celtics after the fact. That is Bush League.

Boston wouldn't hide any medicals from Cleveland or no team would ever do deals with Ainge again.

2nd round picks can be bought for 3 million dollars on draft night.

Isaiah isn't out for the season or Boston's medical team would have killed their own season.

The one thing I'll say is that Boston didn't have to hide medicals. It's entirely possible the Cleveland doctors had a different diagnosis of IT than the Boston doctors. Isn't that possible?

Also, I feel like you went from saying "IT is maybe going to miss a few weeks of the season" to "he's not going to miss the whole season". That's a pretty big difference, even if you think Cleveland can just punt the entire regular season.

Our Long Cavaliers-Celtics Trade Nightmare Is Over - The Ringer

They gave everything to Cleveland prior to the trade. This was posturing by Gilbert.

Cleveland did the deal for Crowder and the Brooklyn pick they said so in the article.

I think Isaiah will be on the court by Halloween if not first week in November range.
